   My partner and I had the cook for you dining experience. This meal was one of the best meals either of us have ever had. The service is amazing and the cooking style of cooking over open flames for the whole dining room to watch is incredibly unique. Yes it’s an expensive but it is 1000% worth it. Truly unique, special, creative and delicious!

   Great experience as usual. Only complaint was volume of the sound system which made it a little challenging to hear my lunch companions.

   What a great experience! We chose the cook for you option for two, and it was easily one of the best meals I've ever had. The staff was entirely professional, but everyone was very kind and welcoming. Our serve, Joanna, was personable and informative. The sommelier, Angel, gave us a good laugh and an even better recommendation for a bottle of riesling! TY everyone !

   What has happened to this formerly superb restaurant? We relished an extraordinary special-occasion meal here 2.5 years ago, experiencing some of the most dazzling and inventive pescatarian cooking of our past 26 years of fine dining together, and exemplary warm service. We have often dreamt of returning and had supposed that again ordering the “Let us pick for you” prix fixe menu would be the highlight of our return to San Francisco. The morning after, it is hard to shake our sense of disappointment of dinner last night at Angler. And this with a tariff of $650 for two. There were high and low points in the food offerings, but too many lows for a restaurant of these pretensions. Ruby-red totally uncooked squab betrayed carelessness in the kitchen. Too often, the flavor profiles were discordant and undercut the impeccable ingredients. Equally unfortunate, our table for two was adjacent to that of a large party including some apparent friend of the restaurant. While the kitchen sent out every menu item to them, and seemingly every employee came by to pay homage, we languished next door unattended, with long, unexplained intervals between courses. Basic services like clearing our table and refilling water and wine glasses were sporadic and neglectful. Most often, our view of our servers was of their backsides.

   We had a great date night at Angler. The food was delicious. We started with some caviar that was presented in a great manner. After that we shared some fish and some sides. All of the dishes were delicious. The service was excellent. The wine list is incredible. We look forward to returning again.

   Disappointing service. After finishing dessert and having all plates cleared, we waited 20 minutes, but the bill never arrived. When I approached a staff member in a black suit to address the issue, she simply responded with, 'Thanks for letting me know,' repeating it multiple times without any apology or acknowledging the inconvenience for the oversight. The lack of accountability was frustrating.

   Everyone recommended this place, but for us it wasn’t the great, I would say it was ok, but compared to other simpler places we’ve visited in SF, angler is far to be a prominent restaurant. I would like to mention one of the staff members who was dressing casual and not as the rest of the cast, he was standing in the table next to us and we couldn’t handle the malodorous, I never make this kind of comments, but this was definitely unpleasant.
