   Living in Calgary and having lived in “real” cities, Ankor is as close to big city excellence as you will find in Alberta. Food and service are above and beyond and what one would expect if they lived anywhere else in the world Forget thinking that the in places in Calgary are actually good and make the drive to Canmore for the best restaurant in Alberta

   We were celebrating our Anniversary, and wanted to do something special! Ankor delivered! From the moment we were greeted at the door to the end of the evening, the service, staff and food were fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant - its a one of a kind!

   Outstanding experience! We had a very memorable experience here, we chose the chefs tasting menu. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Our server/hostess was so fun and knowledgeable and enhanced our experience! Amuse bouche - flavour bomb of duck on a tiny doughnut Salmon - very light with pickled fennel….very nordic very tasty, forgot the picture! Veal tartare - I love beef tartare and this was a delicate and light version with a to die for cheese foam. Foie gras - I could eat this all day, just go try it. Pork and scallop - best porkbelly I’ve ever had, scallop cooked perfectly! Duck - omg, star of the show! Beautiful beet accompaniments, breast cooked perfectly, confit so tender! Coffee and apple dessert - we chose one of each to enjoy. Both were light and the apple comes with a tiny scoop of butterscotch ice cream which was amazing! Everything was so expertly prepared, perfectly paced and absolutely divine, we can’t wait to come back! Cheers to the team at Ankor🥂

   I'm trying to decide on one superlative to describe our experience at Ankor, but it has proved difficult. From the moment we entered Ankor, there was a feeling of genuine welcome into a beautifully designed restaurant. We chose to try the six course tasting menu at the suggestion of our server, five savoury dishes and one sweet, with drink pairings expertly offered. The food was sublime, the service friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, we were served the gorgeously crafted and expertly prepared food that was truly innovative and delicious. The portions and pacing of dishes were thoughtful and well paced. This restaurant is about passion, innovation and providing guests with an experience to remember, in the most welcoming setting. Bravo Chef Daniel Beaulieu, Sommelier Julie Helie and the team at Ankor. This jewel of a restaurant nestled in Canmore is an absolute must. We cannot wait to return.

    Fantastic! We did the chefs tasting menu with wine pairing. The food was delicious and a work of art. Each course had a perfect wine pairing too! Julia was our server and the sous chef. She explained everything so elegantly and was such a delight. We will definitely be back.
