Executive chef: Ralph Pausina

From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

Food was just ok as was the service. Had to send food back because the meat was too rare. I feel the quality has deteriorated over the past few years.

The best meal we had in New Orleans. Delicious seafood, friendly staff, great ambiance. Highly recommend the crab-crusted redfish.

Was really looking forward to visiting this wonderful restaurant with such a long legacy but was left feeling very 'meh' about the experience. We were seated promptly even though we arrive a few minutes before our reservation. The server was friendly but our appetizers were delivered to the wrong table, they completely forgot about our bread, overall presentation was really blah and food was just slightly better than average. Overall -- just okay at best and not worth a repeat visit.

Had a great dinner at Antoine’s with outstanding service from Alvin and Drexel. We had shrimp and oyster apps, Antoine salads all around. Dinners included the tenderloin, redfish (which wad amazing) and the gumbo. Alvin gave us a tour of the restaurant after dinner to top off a great night (wine cellar is really cool). We have been coming to Nola for years, but this was our first time at Antoine’s. It will be a mandatory stop in the future!!

We felt very rushed to order our food, as the servers came by 8-10 times in the first 15-20 minutes. Then, when they brought out the food it was cold, and I think it was because they initially brought out our food before our appetizers. After we finally got our appetizers and ate that, pretty sure the food they brought out was the same food from 30 minutes prior. They also brought me an extra drink, which the server said it was back there as an extra so she brought it. When we got our bill it was on there too. How disappointing, especially after spending over $500 on dinner!!!

We loved it. Great food, service, ambiance. There’s 2 sections, the front is very quiet, the back section is more noisy but we prefer that!

This was first return visit and my wife’s first. Antoine’s is a New Orleans and American treasure. We enjoyed appetizer of mixed oysters, including their classic Oysters Rockefeller. Then moved on to our entrees and wine, a delicious French Bordeaux. My wife’s pompano fish was exquisite as was my Grillades de Fruit de Mer, a trio of seafood delicacies. We ended the the classic Baked Alaska, our first. Even though it was the two person size, unfortunately we were too full to finish. It had been nearly 50 years since my first visit with my dad, so glad I was able to share the experience again with my wife.
