   Brilliant pub - great food, delicious petite steak and veg. Staff were fabulous, welcoming, accommodating to a late minute change in our reservation. We’ll be back - thank you for a great night!

   The Argyle is a lovely freshly renovated traditional Aussie pub. The menu is limited but the food was delicious. We sampled the stuffed mushrooms and arancini balls as entrees. Both were very competently produced. Very nicely cooked, crisp crumbs, delicate flavours. We both chose the sirloin steak with chips and salad. Steaks were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Nicely crisp chips and the salad was well dressed. Overall a good pub meal in a nice comfortable venue.

   We ordered the special of the day which was a beef paddle ( 3 different steaks 3 different sauces with hot chips ) it was amazing . Cooked perfectly rare and the flavor was just the best we have ever had . Staff were excited when we ordered it !!!! What a great idea . Hopefully it’s permanently on the menu for our next visit :-)

   Geat addition to Maclean, the only advice I would give is to change up the menu. We have been there 4 times and the menu has not changed at all. It is very limited and basic. I am out of options and will hesitate to return for this reason. Everything else is 5 star.

   My husband is very hard of hearing, and the background noise for him was really uncomfortable. The food took a while to get to us, which meant he had to be in the uncomfortable surroundings longer than he’d hoped. Both my friend and I enjoyed chatting, the ambience. The food was really delicious, perfect, thank you! . And the fellow who came and had a talk to my husband was so understanding. 😜❤️ Maybe we sit outside next time?

   Totally enjoyed our dining experience at the Argyle. Great restorations of this old hotel. Very nicely decorated that has been done to perfection. Food was tasty and plentiful. Would definitely return to the Argyle next time in Maclean.

   Staff, Service and Food the 3 times I have dined at the Argyle have been very good. No complaints from me.

   A buzzy, attractive addition to the nicely evolving town of Maclean. Good food, reasonable wine list, lovely old pub building, well restored. They have some teething problems. The ordering system needs serious improvements. You reserve a table online but when you arrive, have to line up to talk to one person at the bar who knows where your table is, Then you order food from that one person, but they can't take your drinks order. So you line up again. Please Argyle fix your logistics -- it adds ten or fifteen minutes to the time it takes to get settled. Sadly the orders are often mixed up -- probably because that one poor person gets harried. On two out of three visits, my partner's steak preference (medium) was obviously mixed up with mine (rare). The Argyle is trying hard, the staff are lovely, and the Manager has stepped in to help some of the problems on the night. We will keep supporting them.

    Couldn’t eat my pawn fettuccine as it was very fishy. Prawns were days off going off. Staff asked me why I didn’t eat it but now refund was spoken of. Partner had the mushroom risotto was bland & the cream took away from the everything.
