I’ve always been a fan of Art Smith from my days of living in Chicago, so when I was looking for a nice restaurant for Valentines Day, I thought Art and Soul would be the perfect place. The restaurant called me twice the week prior to confirm that we were coming, and during both calls I was told there were two menu options… a Holiday pre-fixed menu, and the regular menu. When we showed up to the restaurant, we were pleased. The restaurant was cute, and we had two different servers come over ready to take our order. We were shocked to learn that there was ONLY a pre-fixed menu and it was $100 per person. The food was great. We had amuse-bouche, salad, soup, rib-eye steak, and a dessert. However, after we ordered, we never saw a server again. No one ever asked us how our food was. We never had anyone refill our wine glasses. It was like they took our order, and then they disappeared. The food runner was the only other person from the restaurant we saw the entire time. We had to wave someone down to even request the check. The experience was awful considering what we spent. We will not be going back.

The service was amazing as always! The bartenders Linda and Kerri Ann are amazing. Short Rib entree amazing and mezcal sour cocktail with was spectacular!! I can’t remember the name but it was perfect! Will definitely come back and sit with the amazing bartenders.

We’ve been dreaming about our return to Art and Soul, the fried chicken is amazing. The short ribs were prepared to perfection. Great cocktail choices. We weren’t offered dessert but we were full. Unfortunately, there was a company Happy Hour and it was very loud. There are 2 glass sliders but they were never closed to reduce the noise for the diners. We’ll return. We love the food.

The service was a little odd. It seemed like the lance was empty and yet they were in a rush to send us out. The main waitress also gave us the machine when we asked to split the check with no guidance. It was very odd.

Really disappointing experience. Very different from a lovely lunch there only a month ago. There was zero atmosphere. The place was mostly empty. The server immediately told us they were out of many items in the menu. We ordered and he immediately came back and told us they were out of one of the things we had ordered—oysters. The sweet potato cooked in a cast iron pan was not sweet potato. The medium rare seared salmon was more like medium. The server seemed embarrassed about everything. It wasn’t really his fault. He came out with another piece of salmon—large but not exactly pan seared—because he said the chef felt bad. But we had already eaten.
