   This was our third and probably last trip to Atelier. The food is always good but there are a lot of restaurants that have equally as good food. We liked Atelier because it was small, chef owned and always had great service. Two major concerns about our experience last night. First, our server was obviously overwhelmed with the number of parties she was responsible for. I can deal with that because it seems to be common at restaurants these days. The one single thing that makes me not want to go back happened when we got the bill. First, we were charged for a cocktail we did not order or get. Knowing how busy our server was I can almost excuse the billing error but she should have at least taken a quick glance before the handing the bill to me. The biggest problem? The additional 2.5% the restaurant coyly adds on to the bill under the description, "sustainability fee." When I asked to have it taken off the bill I was refused. When I asked what it was for I received a mumbled response about escalating food costs. I call BS. It is simply a little extra they hide on the bill because few people really check their tab and they can get away with it. Much like the additional cocktail we were billed for. I feel bad for the restaurant manager because she is put in a bad position with customers, trying to explain the additional fee. To the owner, I get it - restaurants are struggling due to labor and food costs but just increase the price to where you need it to be. Don't insult me by sneaking a little extra charge on the bill to supposedly cover some additional cost. In our case the extra was only $3.96 but the way it was handled will keep me from going back. The food was great and a diner shouldn't leave with a bad taste in the moth but I did, due to that $3.96 fee.

   I adore Radex for lunch! My favorites are the steak tartar or pate appetizer and the king salmon with beurre blanc or bouillabaisse or the fish special. My husband loved the shrimp pasta or the steak frites!

   Atelier is a cozy, inviting space operated with great attention to detail. The service was exceptionally cordial and professional, including a suggested wine paring that was affordable ($52.00 a bottle!) and perfect. The value - especially considering today's escalating prices when dining out, is more than fair! Appetizers, salads, table bread, main courses and desserts were prepared to perfection. My only wish is that they would hand-cut their potatoes, as opposed to purchasing the frozen French fries they serve, which were overcooked and dry. On a scale of 100, Atalier scored a 95. We'll DEFINITELY be back!
