An author is a creator of something original and personal. The resort’s most sophisticated dining
experience, Autor is a restaurant that will tell the story of the chef in command. Guests will be taken on
a journey that at once introduces them to new culinary experiences and offers a window into the history
of the journey’s lead author.

    This is by far the ultimate mexican culinary experience. Our Sommelier has chosen 4 premium labels from different wine regions in Mexico and our culinary team has created traditional dishes from those specific wine regions that pairs with each wine. Not only you will discover premium mexican wines, but also regional dishes from our beautiful Mexico. This is not a common Wine Tasting, but it's a Wine Tour Around Mexico and also a Food Tour Around Mexico with a high degree of difficulty.

    The Corn Journey is an immersive unique experience at Autor restaurant. Your hosts, will guide you through a tasting of authentic corn based bites and spirits such as Pox, Abasolo and Nixta, mezcal and tequila cocktails engineered by our mixologist, with maize as part of their ingredients. Learn about the history and ancestral ways of the Mexican spirits as the different distinct flavors tantalize your senses. Dip your toes into the Corn Journey experience which samples five different spirits, with a spectacular array of hors d’ouvres prepared by Chef Jersai, showcasing corn as one of the most important ingredients of our culture and gastronomy.

    Manuel was excellent! I was a little chilly and he brought me a wrap. The scallops were incredible and the pumpkin dessert was so delicious. My fiance and I don’t drink and Manuel had non alcoholic drinks made for us. I’ve never felt so taken care of at a restaurant. 10/10. My fiance is vegetarian and he had less options he rated it 8/10. Thank you Manuel!

    Rude guards at the resort gate: if you’re not staying there, bring your reservation w/ confirmation number and ID - way too cold in dining room, better outside - friendly but amateurish staff - 30 minute wait for appetizers, forgotten drink order - comped us desert for the problems, which I’m guessing aren’t rare - nice but not special setting - ridiculously priced wine list - but outstanding food, nicely presented

    We expected outstanding food, considering that the restaurant was a Michelin star restaurant. Firstly, my husband and I do not eat pork. Most of the appetizers are fried in pork oil, so we weren't able to try any of the appetizers. Our main courses came out cold. It was as if the food had been sitting out for a while. The restaurant wasn't crowded so there shouldn't have been any reason why our food was cold. It was hard to enjoy the food at that temperature. Our waiter was nice, and friendly. He provided good service. Overall, we were disappointed in the food and wouldn't come back.

    Good: Food was very good. Both the sea bass and octopus entrees were prepared very well, and appetizers (beef tamales and quail tostadas) were solid. Even the kid’s menu choices looked awesome. Great setting/design. Bad: service was lackluster. We ordered our kid’s food first, but the waiter didn’t come back to take our order until our kids were nearly done eating (20-25 minutes). Once we ordered, the appetizers came out but our bottle of wine took forever. We were almost done with the appetizers came when the waiter finally came out with the wine. He put the wine in a bucket next to us, and then walked away to clear two tables, take an order from another table, and ask another table about whether they needed anything else, and to pour water for another table. Our wine is just sitting there. 10 minutes later he still hasn’t come back to open our bottle of wine, we literally had to wave our arms for him to see us and he came over. By then we were pretty much done with our food, and a bottle of wine that wasn’t even open. We told him we has nothing to eat with our wine, so he just took it away. No acknowledgement, no apology. Gave us the check, never checked in with us again.

    The restaurant ambiance is great but the food was a bit unique. If you are not an adventuresome eater this may not be the restaurant for you. Not many traditional dishes. Had the broccoli which was good but the Tamali was questionable and drowned in sauce. The brisket was good. Expect to spend $100+ per person.

    Food was excellent and service was phenomenal. Staff provided recommendations on everything. The liquor tasting/taste of corn was incredible!

    Great service from Roberto!!! The food was delightful overall. The restaurant and hotel was beautiful. The restaurant was freezing (would definitely bring a pashmina or wear longer sleeves). Valet parking excellent service there as well. Our favorite item was the scallop starter. We even shared some dishes like the broccoli. I received a birthday desert which was delicious! Afterwards a live band was playing near the beautiful bar at the hotel so we even hung around the fire pit at the outside bar to enjoy the music with the pool view that evening.
