   Food was good, but very pricy for the portions. The restaurant is quite dark. We had to use flashlights at one point to see some of the food. The thing that bothered me was the service charge. There was an automatic 20% service charge on the meal, which I was totally okay with. To be sure that the tip would also go the waiter and staff, I asked him if this is indeed a standard gratuity that goes to the staff. He informed that the service charge does NOT go to the waiter, and that an additional tip would be the gratuity to him. My partner and I were surprised by this answer. We were expecting him to say “that charge is a standard gratuity (tip) that goes to us (the staff)”. But okay, so the service charge doesn’t go the the waiter and staff… that seems extremely odd, but now I feel bad so let’s leave an additional tip to make sure the staff is compensated. We talked to friends in the service industry and learned that we were misled. The service charge IS a gratuity that goes to the staff (waiter included) just like a standard tip. That seems obvious in hindsight, but I’m really disappointed that we were guilted into leaving an additional tip on top of the already generous 20% mandatory tip. This isn’t necessarily the restaurant’s fault, but it left a really bad taste in our mouths. I wonder how many other people they have guilted with this tactic. Now I may be wrong here but I’m also pretty sure that I didn’t see an indication on the menu stating that there is a mandatory 20% fee on every meal. Even so, this seems like a predatory practice (having waiters claim that the 20% fee does not go to them).

   Food and service was amazing. Got the lobster pasta and was not disappointed. Their take on the old fashioned was also delicious. For dessert get the Balaclava.

   I rarely ever leave reviews, but the service, food, and ambience at this place really this as amazing as everyone says it is. Our friends got married earlier on the day and we decided to go here for dinner and the experience was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend!

   Exceptional service and unforgettable food! From the moment we walked in, the experience was top-tier. Our server, Kayla, was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming—she took the time to walk us through the restaurant’s concept and menu with genuine enthusiasm. I was eyeing the ribeye, and she recommended their ribeye special—it was absolutely the right call. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be back!

   The experience, ambience, food was amazing! Joshua C was down to earth, knowledgeable and one of the best servers I ever had and the staff was top tier. We love pushing the boundaries on my now 1 year olds palette and this restaurant did that and we were able to introduce more that she hadn’t tried yet. I definitely recommend and honestly ask for Joshua C if you can.

   The ambiance was great. Our server(Josh) was very attentive and informative. Hubby had Lobster pasta which was amazing. I had the filet Mignon- was just “ok”. I expect this cut to be “ melt in your mouth” it wasn’t quite that and was a pretty small serving of meat for the price. I did tell our server, I feel that’s how restaurants improve. Our sever offered free dessert to compensate. We would go back but would stick with the best choice on the menu- the Lobster pasta.

    We were early for our reservation and sat at the bar and ordered two drinks which arrived and the bartender asked if we wanted to close the tab I said no and then he asked for a credit card which he kept.I didn't expect this from Ava as they should know their customers and the tip is added automatically. My food was ok the fish smelled a little bit so I didn't complain or eat it.
