My partner and I came to Avec for an anniversary dinner and it did NOT disappoint! We each got a cocktail and then ordered four dishes to share (the endive and apple salad, the short rib hummus, the campanelli, and the lamb kefta calzone). Each was INCREDIBLE, but the short rib hummus was 100% the show stopper (i'd come back just to eat that!) The portion sizes were also good for the value. The restaurant itself was beautiful and had such lovely ambience. I will say that we did not receive any sort of "anniversary" benefit - usually restaurants will throw in like an extra something if it's a special occasion, not sure if that's the case at Avec! But either way, we had an absolutely wonderful time and will be coming back.

We had a hummus with short rib that was very good, along with a couple of the pastas. The food was decent for the price. The service was a little underwhelming. The water refill and busing staff were more attentive and friendly than our server. We ended up being there for almost two hours because the server only came over every 15-20 minutes to take our order, give us the check, etc.

Great New Year’s Eve dinner. Had a reservation for 9:30 and were able to leisurely eat and drink right up to the New Year. Our group order several small plates to share and cocktails. It was the perfect New Years Eve.

I like Avec on Randolph much better than the one in River North. The restaurant did absolutely nothing to celebrate the new years. I love their bacon wrapped dates, but the rest of the food was a bit disappointing. Our server was very nice. I think the restaurant looks like an old retired bar, because it was. Also, was a very young crowd. I don’t think I would return to this location.

The food here is imaginative and flavorful. We had the octopus, red cabbage, sweet potato’s, and hummus—all delicious. Those 4 dishes filled the four of us with food to spare. We also had two desserts, very nice. Drinks very well conceived; sweeter than I like. Service terrific.

Place is always spectacular. It may not be the hip new kid on the block, but its who they all should want to be. Its just a never fail winner for great people, great service, great wines, and dishes that are revered. Its the musician's musician equivalent in the Chicago restaurant world.

Had a wonderful meal and experience at Avec. Our server Mallory was exceptional, she was the icing on the cake to a truly memorable meal.

Every dish was exquisite and original (some entirely unique, others fresh takes on familiar things). We were a large group (8 of us). Our server (Graham) was perfectly attentive without being obsequious. An excellent pre-holiday family dinner outing!
