The jerk chicken and accompanying rice had absolutely no flavor (not even salt). The grilled shrimp was also bland. The cornbread and garlic bread were good. I normally don’t write reviews often but look at the places I’ve eaten and respectfully, honestly and constructively speaking...they should remove this item from the menu as it doesn’t come close and shouldn’t be called jerk chicken. Or, leave it on the menu but accurately call it really what it is...chicken thighs with bland seasoning. I’ve been to Jamaica and had jerk chick in the US many times at other. This is not just my opinion but of other guest who wouldn’t eat it. Sorry guys...not good.

The staff completely ignored us, we made reservations, i took my husband to Azuca, we where excited, BUT will never be back Took them forever to come take our order, other couple by us, got up and left.

Azúca is a small restaurant off the Riverwalk on S Alamo. The food was very good, almost 5 stars. The flavors are a combination of Latin and Caribbean, very imaginative and tasty. They need to punch up the flavors just a little, especially for people who are accustomed to eating spicy Tex-Mex food.

Wanted a quiet dinner in a Latin restaurant with local feel, and not just TexMex. We really scored at Azuca, attracted by some descriptions of it as Carribean, Central American fusion. The decor was nicely and comfortably done, feeling like a newly renovated neighborhood place in a city. Noise level in a small place can be defined by one table of 20-somethings having a good time, but was certainly not "energetic", much closer to pleasant. The service was quite good as single maitre d, single waiter, single chef, single sous chef, and single dishwasher appeared to handle the whole place. The top-shelf mojito and short ribs were superb, the guacamole fine, plenty of seafood options I did not get to. Prices were much more reasonable than the river walk.

Dining trip to Azuca started great with their own free parking lot. The staff was nice, drinks were good, and food was unique and delicious.

This was our first time and we will definitely go back! The list of mojitos was long! I tried the coconut one and it was delicious! I had the grilled octopus salad, my husband had the salmon with guava and my son had their steak medallion. For dessert we tried the tres leches and the richest chocolate lava cake. The food was amazing!
