Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar.

BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

Delicious food, the courses were so creative and well thought through. The setting and way the chefs serve the tables was also perfect, not too overwhelming, but really nice to be able to see them plate up each dish in front of you. Also loved the shipping forecast playing in the loos. Delicious cocktails too

Exquisite culinary excellence! Outstanding hidden gem, that is exactly what a restaurant should be unpretentious, exemplary, brilliant service that is friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and professional. The whole experience was wonderful, calm serene and intimate with great lighting, sounds, and the food was beautiful and amazing. Perfection! Four of us went for a lunch with the wine pairing, the front of house / sommelier delivered the information on each wine with warm enthusiasm. The concept with all the chefs explaining the different dishes they served brought the flavour and tastes to the forefront.

Fantastic experience Intimist venue, food is exceptionally cooked and the service from the entire team including the chefs is incredible. One can see the entire dishes being cooked and you really live them alongside those making them. Some of the dishes were amongst the best we ever tasted. 6 stars!

Behind is a gem in Hackney. The food was divine and heavenly/ the tasting menu was grand. The perfect wines to match it too. The service was impeccable! Booked again for our next Michelin star experience
