Made a reservation to celebrate an engagement to my partner and was really excited to try this place. Ive heard nothing but great things. Server messed up our order then made sarcastic comments belittling our experience and saying “you got it mamma” as a response 💀

Amazing service and incredible food. Did not feel rushed at all which never happens in the city!

The drinks were absolutely excellent. Food was a mixed bag. Carpaccio and tuna were excellent, roast potato ice cream was a surprising hit. The crumpet was overly oily and disappointing and the mushroom tartlett also didn't deliver. Service was very nice but wish they'd driven the experience more - run us through the menu, make recommendations - it was a bit too casual.

Contra is your favorite bartender's favorite bar right now. Excellent, nuanced, tasty cocktails and similarly great small bites. Come with 2-4 people, have a couple rounds and snacks (get the wagyu tartar), and then walk to dinner in the neighborhood. Or the other way around!

Drinks are great. I have no problem spending money on a quality experience (liked the music btw), and typically spend considerably more when out to dinner. But, if I were to order two drinks each (for 2 people) and enough food to make it a meal, it would be considerably over $200, which is fine except for that price point, I'd dine elsewhere. Come for the drinks.

We always have a great time at Bar Contra. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Small plates from wild air are delicious and the cocktails are creative and there is something for every one. Theo is the best! We always try to sit at the bar when him and his colleague are there, usually on Fridays. Will be coming back repeatedly

We will be coming back for those impeccable ice cream desserts! 😍 We had such a wonderful server who took care of us. Very memorable NA cocktail options for our friends too.
