   My first time here, I was overall exited especially for the food. But let be honest, price to quality if over priced , 6 oysters barley you can see them in the plate, some of them they look empty, it better to give a nice medium oyster for that price, they taste fresh though. Octopus is tough for such a name and brand I was expecting better quality. Sea bass 4 stars . Desert ( toffee bread with ice cream) I am sure you can do better. The atmosphere is nice drink are good. We don’t have banana.. service : Amanda V was amazing.

   So disappointing. I know the chef and have eaten at many of his restaurants. Unfortunately, it is clear. He is not supervising this restaurant. First of all, for a seafood restaurant, less than half of the dishes were seafood. I understand they’re trying to cater to other customers, but this is stupid. Next, they did not have one of the three seafood entrées so all there was were scallops and salmon. I can have this at any restaurant. Overall, a huge disappointment. There are hundreds of great restaurants in Chicago… This is not one of them. Do yourself a favor, do not eat her. I lived in the city for 35 years and coming back was excited to dine here and now I am frustrated that I picked the wrong place. Caveat emptor

   Worst service i’ve ever experienced in my life. I took over an hour for the food to come as I also found hair in the desert. The manager did give me a heavy discount on the meal, but it was still the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Chicago restaurant.

   A colleague and I went for dinner, the wait staff was attentive and made very good suggestions. We had the salt foam margarita and shared 3 appetizers neptunes pillows, salmon crudo and octopus all were delicious. We finished with the deconstructed key lime pie which was also very good. Overall a great meal for a decent price.

   This was our first time at Bar Mar and everything was fabulous! The service was spot on. Every staff member went above and beyond to make our anniversary extra special. The food and drinks were also delicious. We will definitely be back!

   Excellent experience, good, service, and ambiance. The manager came also and provided an extra touch of excellent service by checking and ensuring that I was having a good experience. Highly recommend!
