This is Greece.

Bar Vlaha tells the story of the Vlach people, the founders of hospitality and Greek cooking. A nomadic group of shepherds who created and nurtured the roots of Hellenic cooking as we know it. Straying from the tried-and-true island cuisine, we're rediscovering Greek fare sourced from rural mountains, lakes and villages of Central and Northern Greece.

Bar Vlaha captures the true soul of Greek cooking with rustic and nomadic traditions using charcoal and open fire gastra techniques. Locally sourced, regional and seasonal ingredients are combined with the warmth of old-world hospitality to bring the roots of Greek culture to Brookline.

    Food was wonderful, as always. We enjoyed bringing family to experience Bar Vlaha. The service was outstanding- we love the way we feel hosted like honored guests.

    We sat at the bar for dinner, and it was very entertaining chatting with the entertaining bar tender/server. Our food was beyond delicious, each item was cooked to perfection! We started our meal with cocktails and warm rustic bread with goat butter, a luscious spread. We then shared the "GARIDES ME GIGANDES, " "PESTROFA" and "PANTZARIA." (See menu for translations.) Service was very friendly, which we felt was genuine. All in all, a great evening!

    Never disappointed any time I come here with my family for authentic northern Greek food and flavors I grew up with plus some modern twists. The service is always impeccable and the servers are always so kind to my toddler, attentive but never overbearing.

    We had an amazing experience at Bar Vlaha! This was my third visit and a first visit for my friends. We absolutely loved the food and drinks! They were very accomodating, providing a menu that notated items containing dairy and gluten. The ambiance is beautiful, and the service is incredible and super friendly. Samia was amazing! Thank you for a delicious, fun dinner - can’t wait to come back!

    Bar Vlaha is my favorite restaurant in Boston. Every time I come here the service is great, the people are friendly, and the food and drink are amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

    The food and service was amazing. We were seated in the little “box” and it was SO loud our voices were hoarse after. If noise is an issue, I’d book and specifically ask not to be in that room. We were a table of 4 with a table of maybe 12 next to us. It was no one’s fault, just a very loud space. But otherwise we were delighted. The food was AMAZING and all the service was top notch!
