   This was my first time having lunch here in a long time. We went for the seafood special and WOW! So amazing! Great service, great atmosphere!

   The food it always great when I go (this was my 4th or 5th time). However, this is the second time my service was awful. The first time we had a table of 7 friends and were left without seeing our waitress for over an hour. We were waiting for her to come back to get another drink but since she took over an hour we ended up going to the counter and asking for our bill to leave. Empty plates and drinks for an hour was super frustrating! Then tonight our waiter was grumpy, was barely listening to what I was saying, had to keep repeating, and he generally seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. Just super unfriendly and difficult to talk to. It’s too bad because I love the food.

   Our server, Paige was wonderful and really made our group feel welcome and cared about for certain dietary restrictions, which just made our night out that much better. My Martini Olivia came out perfect and our food was delicious and well timed. The tomato hazelnut dip and crispy calamari is something I'll be dreaming out for days to come. You definitely have future customers out of us!

   This was a horrible experience that I experienced on my engagement dinner. The attitude, comments, and demeanour of the manager that was on that night was despicable. We got to the restaurant and our tables were very far apart from each other. Not only that, she said “you are not able to mingle with the other table”. I explained that This is my engagement dinner and that was the expectation. My friends came to talk to me not have a separate dinner. I kindly asked to have a better option. I even offered sitting in a booth because there were two booths open and beside each other. Not only that, the restaurant had many tables open. She dismissed me and said that they were for only four people. She said she would get back to me if there was another option, leaving us to stand there for 15 mins. She finally came back to us and said she had a table in the back with a lower table but we would be together. She said the caveat was that we would have to pay 18% gratitude and that we would have to pay on one bill. Does their system not automatically split the bill between people? Also, our waiter was not happy to serve us. I asked him about having the girls that were leaving to pay for the few item they had and he said "I cannot do anything I have already pushed so many buttons tonight". I have not idea what that meant but I asked your manager and she could not explain. But that is definitely not good to hear from a waiter. Honestly this was such a stressful experience and I would never recommend the restaurant to anyone. I don't want others to have to deal with the rudeness and inability to accommodate to a special event. Especially since we contacted them multiple times before the event.

   Hi Chelsea, We are sorry to hear your disappointment in your special occasion. We were happy to accommodate your group together dining off of our set menu however you opted out and chose to have two separate tables near each other, which we did accommodate. Tables that may appear vacant in the restaurant aren’t necessarily available to be seated. Our booking requirements and billing policies for large groups were consistently communicated over email, text, and in-person on the evening.    The lemon tarte was delicious! The service was great and the upstairs seating was quieter which made for a better ambiance. Would recommend!

    I took some coworkers to the happy hour after work. My partner and I are frequent guests though this time I wanted to show my peers how amazing the drinks and food at Barbarella really is. They loved it! This restaurant is without a doubt a must go in Calgary
