Good food and excellent service. Friendly, accommodating staff. However it's not the place to have a quiet conversation at your meal. Nice vibe to the place though.

I regret to say that my recent experience at Bardo on Locke Street was profoundly disappointing. Our reservation was made a week in advance for a party of five to celebrate a birthday, an occasion we anticipated would be marked by a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Unfortunately, Bardo failed to deliver even the basic expectation of comfort. Despite booking well in advance, we were seated at a table designed for four, awkwardly squeezed into the restaurant’s busiest and most chaotic area—right beside the cashier and bar. This high-traffic zone turned our evening into an exercise in patience. My feet were stepped on multiple times, and my chair was repeatedly bumped as staff and patrons navigated the cramped space. The seating arrangement was so poorly planned that my wife and her mother had to alternate eating their meals, as they were physically unable to sit comfortably without colliding. This was not a matter of service missteps that could be remedied with charm or effort; the issue was fundamental and entirely avoidable had there been proper attention to reservations and spatial planning. Such an uncomfortable setup is unacceptable, especially for a restaurant that presumably prides itself on offering a pleasant dining experience. I cannot recommend Bardo and will not return. Celebratory occasions deserve thoughtful accommodation, and Bardo demonstrated a clear lack of consideration for its guests.

Excellent experience. Outstanding service made all the difference, with waiters attentive to all our needs and willing to make thoughtful suggestions for our dinner. Even though it is more expensive than a chain restaurant dinner, it is worth every cent. Food is fresh and high quality, with variety in pizzas (not your usual cheese pizza!), and refined dishes for those looking for pasta and/or seafood. I would pass on the appetizers (they are too expensive for what they are), but the entrees are to die for.

A nice experience. Food was good - not great, good. Portions seemed fine. But, for example, $19 for quinoa, some chick peas, black beans, handful of arugula and simple pesto/vinegrette??? This is a couple of dollars to make … $19? Calamari was not terribly crisp. Generally, things tasted ok. Not wow. But there seemed enough menu items to try that makes it worth maybe coming back. Service was terrific (well done Levi!). My salad was served without any dressing, pointed it out and was fixed right away with apology. All good!! Brought older parents in - Sunday PM - super loud and it killed the enjoyment for them a bit. Not a quiet place for a late lunch at all. Overall, seems worth a try but not a knock it out of the park place. Just - good.

Everything was amazing ! There were 3 of us and we shared: bread and spread, roasted brussel sprouts, small duck confit pizza and mac and cheese. We were all satisfied and had a slice of pizza left over. The service was great, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. We also order coffee and cookies at the to-go counter after we had paid for our table. At that point I think the servers may have been a little overwhelmed because my latte sat half made at the machine for 5+ minutes as several servers were taking care of delivery pick ups and bar drinks and serving tables, before a third person finally came over to finish my drink.
