The restaurant is closed! No one informed us and we had to make new plans 1 hour before we’re supposed to dine. Super inconsiderate especially considering the weather!

The heat was off so we were freezing. The server barely came to our table, everything was way too spicy and the amount of food for the price is not worth it.

For those who don’t know, the name Barkat in Hindi language means prosperity/blessing & let me just begin by saying that dining at Barkat has been a blessing in itself! First time visited this place for a Birthday Dinner on a Monday night & this is everything I thought; Upon entering Barkat one thing you will notice is (post sundown) the ambiance - super cozy & romantic, yet super inviting! The moody ceiling lights really does the trick & a couple of steps in you will be greeted by the MOST, I repeat THE MOST welcoming/cordial & extremely warm person named Maira! Her ever so smiling face & greeting assures you that you have stepped into the right place & needless to say, the experience will be amazing! So to start with we were given complimentary Veg. Manchow Soup (Hakka cuisine), that literally hit the spot when it comes to on rainy/snowy nights in Toronto. While they have a very diverse menu, we inquired with Maira and took her recommendations for dinner & OH BOYY!! Everything she recommended was absolutely bombdotcom; ✨Kali Miri Chicken Tikka ($18.99) - 10000/10000 the chicken was super succulent and tender but the creamy marination was just WOW! Low-key I thought this was better than what you would get in India, I kid you not! ✨Amritsari Fish Tikka ($17.99) - 9999/10000 the fish is freshly marinated and deep fried like a pakora and garnished with spicy mango salsa! SO SO GOOD!!! ✨Malai Kofta ($18.99) - 100000/100000 BEST MALAI KOFTA EVER! Read that again! Because this was so so so good! Like I could eat it ANY given day but more so WAYYY better than what you get in India!! ✨Laccha Paratha ($6.00)+ Tandoor Roti ($5.00)- You cannot go wrong with either of the Indian breads but my personal favourite has to be the Laccha Paratha! Absolutely HEAVEN!! BEST! ✨Gulab Jamun with Rabri ($12.99) - 9999/10000 - This was just a perfect way to finish your meal. The rabri was my favourite!! To sum up my experience, I would strongly recommend visiting Barkat and trying every

The space feels welcoming without being overly casual, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. Service: The service at Barkat is impeccable. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and their knowledge of the menu is evident. Our server was quick to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had about the dishes. There was a palpable sense of hospitality, and our meal progressed at a comfortable pace, with our server ensuring we had everything we needed throughout. Menu: Barkat’s menu offers a diverse selection of dishes that showcase the vibrant flavors of the region. The variety of options caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Drinks: The drink menu is well-curated, with a selection of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options .

When we walked in, the place smelled like sewer water. My plate had a bug on it. The food was average. We order a mutton dish and all we got was massive pieces of bones w little to no meat on them. We had to eat our food w the curry the mutton was cooked in. When we complained about it to two different staff members, nothing was done about it. Never going back there.

Waited 30 mins for someone to take our order, no one ever did so walked out after that. There was only 1 person waiting on all the tables, which also included a large group. Since you call yourself a high end restaurant, HIRE MORE PEOPLE!!
