The owner & chef of Barracuda, Sonia Salazar, grew up in Colombia but trained as a chef in the United States. Went for New Year's Eve. Thought there would be dancing but there wasn't. DJ played 3-4 songs of salsa, cumbia, bachata and then went into latin hiphop/reggaeton or something. Had a football game on the big screen TV instead of a New Year's Eve celebration. Apps came out for 1 hr- 9-10pm then stopped. People in front of us didn't get anything. Seemed poorly organized and waiters seemed bothered by customers. We left early to celebrate elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Hi Barbara, I'm sorry to hear that you left unhappy on such a special night. We did pass appetizers again from 11pm - 12am but it sounds like you may have left before they were presented. We did switch TVs to the ball drop closer to midnight and while we didn't have a dance floor we had a cigar lounge and photobooth for the evening along with the DJ who was trying to play a mix of music to keep everyone happy. With that said, if you would like to email us (80proofkitchen (at) gmail.com) we can get you a gift card for a future visit since it sounds like you didn't get the full experience.

Friendly professional server ( Matteo) provided everything we needed. Food delicious as always. Arepas and chicken wings are always good..

Me and my friend drove an hour and a half to eat here and it was worth every mile!!! The food was amazing the drink I got which was a passion fruit mojito was off the charts and the service was excellent! I will definitely come back soon!! Thank you for a great experience.

A wonderful Happy Hour and pre-concert (The Struts at College Street Music Hall) dining experience with friends! Lovey, our server, was fantastic - super attentive, patient and happy to split the check across 3 credit cards. Food and drinks were delicious! Some of the most generous portions I’ve seen on a Happy Hour Menu!

We were disappointed, the service was subpar and the food was not great. The menu on Open Table is not reflective of the real menu and the staff didn’t seem to really care when we brought it to their attention. The server brought two sets of utensils when there were 4 of us, he seemed confused/annoyed when we asked for 2 more. Our apps came and he didn’t understand why we wanted plates, then it seemed as though he wanted us to share plates as he would bring one over and we him come back until we all had plates. It was very bizarre. The dinner was not flavorful and the pork belly was chicharron, so be aware. The chicken was rubbery. We won’t be returning.

The food is was VERY good. I am in love with the yuca Fries🤤. It was very loud but in a fun lively way. Only con was the the servers continuously offered us the wrong food.
