First thing we noticed when we were sat was that it was freezing inside. They had the rollup door open and it was 45° last night while we were dining. There was music on the patio. Poor guy must’ve been freezing. He was good though! Literally took 15 minutes for someone to greet our table. When the server walked up, he had a confused look on his face and asked if anybody had greeted us yet, and we said no. So he took our drink orders. Then one minute later, a girl walked up to the table and greeted us and said that she would be our server. We informed her that somebody just took our drink order and she said she would go sort it out. She came back with no drinks and said she would be our server and then five minutes later we got our drinks. We ordered the queso appetizer from her, but it never came. We sat down at 7:45 PM and our dinner order was finally taken at 8:38 PM. Our food came out a half hour later. The enchiladas were cold. My burrito was warm, but not hot. At this point, I informed her that our queso never came and she said she’d take it off the bill . Overall, it felt like a bunch of kids were running the restaurant. I never saw anybody who look like a manager. Luckily I was meeting up with friends I hadn’t seen in 10 years so we were overall not bothered by the slow service since we wanted to chat and catch up. But I think if we were there dining with our usual friends, probably would’ve got up and left. This is unfortunate. I’ve been to other barrio Queen locations, but this was my first time at the Gilbert location so I know this is not a typical barrio queen experience. Everything was just off.

Great service and fun setting. Seated quickly after check in. I was disappointed that they did not have the 2 first menu items I ordered. Guacamole was good but the tacos were a bit dry.

Food was cold and the server did his best to rush us out the door. We were still eating and he came to have us pay the check. We weren’t even done with food and drinks.

Great time with family. Setting was awesome, service was ok. But they were able to cater to our needs. Thank you

Authentic vibe and food. Service was excellent. Loved the salsa - came in mild and super spicy.

We gave eaten at Barrio Queen many times, but not recently. Food had definitely gone downhill and service was slow. I don’t think we’ll be coming back soon. Disappointing.

We have eaten many times at the Gilbert location as well as others. We each tried the Fajitas as they are a new item. One CHIX and Shrimp and one Beef and Chicken. The shrimp were so overcooked. In fact the entire platter looked like a blackened dish. The same with the chicken and Steak. The Guacamole appetizer was excellent. Last night was a big disappointment.

There were no employees at the hostess stand or anywhere to be seen. Had to wait quite sometime before somebody noticed us and seated us. Service was blah at best. Service was blah at best. Got up and grabbed my own Salt & Pepper from the Hostess stand because again I there were no employees around. Table side Guacamole should be an experience. It was prepared off to the side of us, no conversation from staff, and was served up not mashed guacamole but chunks of guacamole. Literally everything was thrown into a bowl, stirred and served. Entrees were very disappointing. This place has gone down hill.

service was great. food was pathetic the carne asada burrito we always get at the Desert Ridge location, was not even close at the Gilbert location. it was half the size n had only 8 tiny pieces of meat in it. The Desert Ridge location is packed with meat. our server said she has had that complaint quite a few times. we won't be back to Gilbert location
