The Bartons Arms is indeed a gem of Victorian architecture in Birmingham, renowned for its stunning design and historical significance. Built in 1901, it stands as one of the finest examples of a Victorian public house, showcasing intricate craftsmanship from a bygone era.
Beyond its architecture, the Bartons Arms is also celebrated for its atmosphere, offering a warm, nostalgic glimpse of Birmingham's past. The pub has also hosted various notable visitors over the years, including famous entertainers such as Laurel and Hardy.
Today, it continues to serve both as a public house and a Thai restaurant, blending its rich historical setting with modern dining. Its preservation as a Grade II* listed building ensures that this piece of Birmingham’s Victorian heritage remains a beloved landmark.

There was only one member of staff on duty, serving at the bar, in the restaurant and cleaning the tables and the floor! She did her best but it meant that we had to wait for 10 minutes at the reception desk on arrival, even though we had booked online. We also had wait for 10 minutes to pay before we left. The food was adequate but not so well prepared as the last time we were there a year ago.

Food was very good, however we had a 1 hour wait for it to arrive. This despite tables who arrived after us receiving their starters and mains before we received ours. Service was really really poor, and based on this unlikely to return.

I have to say compared to before, the menu is half as good. The service was terrible as I had to go up front myself to order. Food wasn’t as good as it used to be either. I won’t be going back in a hurry.

It's been a long time since we've been, but the old building hasn't lost any of it's character. The interiors are restored & kept to a very high standard. The Service was attentive without being over-bearing & we had a warm welcome. The Food was lovely, the Starters especially so - of which two of us shared four! And the main course were also lovely, all complimented by a decent cask ale to go with it. Thanks to the Barton Arms & keep up the good work..

Went here with a friend and my newborn. Was a great experience. Food was exceptional very tasty. The Thai cuisine is very authentic great value for money. Staff were amazing and accommodating. The atmosphere is very vibrant, lovely music and overall great friendly and comfy vibe.
