Basso by PXK offers a contemporary Italian dining experience with a deep respect for tradition. Located in the heart of Chappaqua at 11 King Street, the restaurant is now under the culinary direction of Chef Peter X. Kelly.

    Peter Kelly’s new venture at Basso56 is already a success. The Pots Pans & Pasta debut brunch was a continuous flow of Italian dishes—one of everything, among them an antipasto plate, salads, fresh pasta (orecchiette with sausage and zucchini of note), frittata, chicken cooked two ways, steak, pork, salmon, and more, some dishes in a bright tomato sauce, all dishes spectacular. We accompanied ours with a Gavi del Comune di Gavi (not-dry white wine) that we would order again. All followed by a nutty gelato, lemony tart, trifle, and panna cotta, with fruit and clouds of whipped cream. Tasteful decor and lively crowd. What a joy!

    Peter Kelly (of X2O) is now running the kitchen! We ate there for their first $42 "Pots Pans and Pasta" Sunday brunch, and it was amazing! Bread, olives, meat and cheese, walnuts and fruit were on the table when we sat down. Everything is served from passed dishes. They started us out with two salads, then we had a variety of pastas, meats, and fish. For dessert, they brought a platter which had a slice of lemon tart, half of a panna cotta, some chocolate/nut log slices, a scoop of deep rich chocolate ice cream and a delicious trifle. We'll definitely be back! PS kids under 8 are free for brunch!

    Peter Kelly’s Brunch is back! When we were seated there was already a meat, cheese & olive plate on the table as well as a fruit plate & bread. Then the wait staff began to serve the Delicious food that never stops coming. Food was nicely paced and each course was perfectly cooked & very tasty. Our desert came to our table as a shared plate with a great variety. My favorite was a chocolate sausage a gem of a desert & something I have never had before & would definitely order if on the menu. My only complaint was the the Prosecco was not included, however, the price of Brunch was less than when it was included. Don’t miss the wonderful brunch at this charming restaurant.

    The waiter seemed to miss understand food requests. Salad without dressing came with dressing. 2 diners order branzino and were served salmon. Branzino then came very poorly prepared. They did give us drinks and desserts to make it better but it was very disappointing.

    Basso has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food and drinks are always amazing. The service is caring and professional. Always an amazing experience. Tonight we both had the filet mignon. Cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. Also try the grilled calamari.
