   Fantastic meal and pitch-perfect service. Low light and neutral tones of dining room plus noise were nothing special but everything about the food was. Will return for a special occasion.

   A lovely space in a cool new hotel. The food is so interesting and the different tastes blended together really work.

   Having recently spent time in Sardinia , we were skeptical that the food here would be comparable to what we experienced. Bastia managed to create an authentic Sardinian menu that delivered . The appetizers and entrees were wonderfully prepared.. The desserts left a little room for improvement, but overall it was an excellent meal with excellent service . The space is beautiful and has a great vibe. My only complaint is that the music is very loud. We were seated directly below a speaker and it made it difficult to hear anyone. I hope that can be rectified with either lowering the volume or changing the placement of speakers since it make what should have been a 5 star review a 4. I heard another group seated next to us complaining about the same thing.

   Every single course was unique and delicious! Recommendation by our server ,Sean, on how to order was spot on. He also suggested the winter Negroni drink and it was fantastic! We started with the salted beets and the hiromasa crudo both were fresh and light. We had the skate cheeks, the texture of the fish was flaky and had a bit of crunch on top. The ricotta dumplings had my mouth watering from the smell as I broke open the first dumpling. It had the perfect amount of heat and a slight smokiness that was so freaking good you want to lick the bowl. Hubby ordered the veal osso buco and raved about it. I had the orata and it was flaky and delicious. Most places that excel at the main food are not so terrific with desserts but at Bastia both the panna cota and the basque cheesecake had unique flavors that were a perfect ending. Service was incredible and allowed us to have conversation but never missed a beat on clearing and presenting the next course. We’ve been to a lot of really good restaurants but Bastia is top 3 of them all. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Philadelphia and we will choose to return to Bastia.

   Absolutely amazing. Coolest place. Nothing missing. Food was creative, fresh and inventive. Elevated Fishtown to the next level. Felt and tasted like somewhere in the East Village of NY. Food will blow you away!!! Bravo!!!!!

    Pasta was so fresh and incredible. The menu was very interesting and thoughtful for the season. My fiancé grew up in Italy and said it’s the best pasta he’s had so far in Philly.
