Bastion is the 24-seat restaurant of James Beard Foundation Award Nominee Chef Josh Habiger. It is located in a separate area within the casual cocktail bar of the same name, and it is a part of the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Bastion's dining room features counter seating around the kitchen for parties of 2 as well as three tables for parties of 3 to 6. Bastion's small team serves a weekly set menu of six dinner courses featuring many dishes with a wide variety of flavors, ingredients, and inspirations. Friendly service guides you through the culinary experience, which also features wine pairings, creative cocktails, and a curated vinyl soundtrack. Come early or stay late in the hidden Little Bar, which is a private offering for guests of the restaurant.

    SHUCKDOWN! Bastion’s Oyster Roast party is taking place in the Big Bar on Sunday, March 9th from 3pm to 7pm. Gather ‘round one of our 3 long tables and shuck your own fire-roasted oysters! (assistance will be available if desired) The fire will be burning all afternoon, with loads of fresh Island Creek oysters roasted and replenished multiple times per hour. This party is a continuation of Chef Diana’s annual backyard series, which became so legendary in the industry it had to be shared with a wider audience! Tickets include: roasted oysters and a few fresh ones, access to the shuck-your-own tables (again, assistance will be available if desired) plus a number of delicious Southern sides by chef Diana Prescott including potato salad, bean salad, Savannah red rice and maybe even some caviar. Full bar service is available, or purchase an endless beer cup for $24 during a tap takeover by local heroes Southern Grist. Get your ticket via Open Table, and Get Coastal with us!

    The food and service were both amazing. Each meal was served by one of the chefs and explained very well. The wine pairings were spot on and made for a really delicious evening. Good music was playing at an appropriate volume and the atmosphere was intimate and welcoming.

    This place is truly worth the trip. Cool setting, fun and interesting food, expert service and unique cocktails. I promise you I will be back with my family to show them a really special dining experience. Thanks to Chris and the rest of the staff at Bastion for making my first visit there one to remember.     One of the best meal and experiences we’ve ever had! Every single bite was so delicious and extremely tasty!! And each presentation was amazing. Thank you! And the staff were all so friendly and personable and professional! Can’t wait to come back.

    Everything was good but didn’t blow us away. We felt a bit rushed during our experience. Also felt like the wine pairing was not worth it - the different variations weren’t explained well and didn’t always match with the flavors of the food. It just seemed like the restaurant has gotten too commercialized and some of the care of a tasting menu has gone away

    The food at Bastion was incredible. All the food that was served was unique and it was difficult to pick a favorite. Service was excellent and the little bar just outside the restaurant had the perfect vibe. Cocktails were also great.
