Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

Great overall experience. We got the dinner for chef recommendations since my husband and I are not picky eaters. It was a great experience, and we definitely ate more veggies than we would typically order, but each was flavorful. The beans that came with our braised beef was a bit undercooked, which I’m not sure if was intentional or not. The desert was fantastic and so was the nice gesture of an additional “happy birthday” plate. ❤️

You never know what’s on the menu. We don’t eat pork so that cuts down the choices on a very small menu. The Malachi is always good. The salad was extremely overdressed and braised spinach and acidic squash detract as well the mushroom dish tasted good but is small and expensive for a handful of mushrooms. The vid was perfectly cooked but the sauce was extremely heavy on the soy. We mentioned a birthday at our table which went unrecognized. Very disappointing.

I took my wife to Bata for Valentine's evening dinner. This restaurant had been on our list of someplace that we wanted to try, and oh man did they not disappoint! The food, the mood, the staff, and the service was all just so amazing. Even the valet parking was just a level up. And I have to say again oh man the food!!!!!!! Our main server Rori! (I hope I spelled her name right was just a sweet heart. It was just a perfect evening. We we're both so happy that we finally went. My wife can't stop talking about how much she enjoyed our evening. Bata is a amazing place to go for dinner!

The ambiance and service was great. The food presentation was fantastic, but the food itself lacked balance. We ordered the seared albacore but the citrus flavor was way over done and it just tasted like sour oranges, you could barely taste the fish. We also ordered the beef tartare, but found that some bites were extremely salty. Other than that, service was very good, and I'd give the place another chance. They were pretty busy.

Outstanding food and extensive wine selection. I had fire roasted turnips with wilted greens and succulent pork tenderloin. Excellent dining option in downtown Tucson.
