Bata is a restaurant designed to celebrate the best our region has to offer. We cook over a live oak fire, on our custom fabricated hearth. Our menu changes daily. We mill AZ grown grain in house, daily. We focus on whole animal butchery, done in house. We have an extensive fermentation program. Our bar program largely focuses on wines that are organic, biodynamic, and produced with minimal intervention. The cocktail list highlights the best products of the season, with a carefully curated list of spirits from across the globe. We believe that our hospitality is just as important as the food and beverages we put on the table.

We do not encourage our restaurant for young children. We do not have any highchairs in house and ask that you please bring your own if it is required.

We do not offer any outdoor seating. Private dining, kitchen counter and large party seating available. Email hello@batatucson.com for inquiries.

Overall, it was unhealthy meal with too much fat. At the recommendation of our waiter, we chose the dinner option where the chef choses your three meal which consists of three plates and a dessert. The final plate was a small piece of pork belly that was 90% white fat. This was after serving us pork terrine. We let our waiter know snd he said that other customers had said similar comments.

Creative but not fussy menu, with delicious, locally-sourced foods. I sat at the bar and had a salad and cod with a type of Tokaj I hadn't had before. Very nice place to sit and watch all the kitchen action. I admired a bin of perfect meringues, and then I had one as part of my dessert. I'll go back the next time I'm in town.

Incredibly expensive for portions. You will spend $300-$400 and then have to eat agin an hour later. Skip

Overall, an adventurous and wonderful experience. 4 of us had the pre-fixe menu. It was delish it little skimpy, especially the dessert. Also, given the type of (cool) building it was in, it was noisy. I'm glad I had the experience!

Our main server, Oliver, was amazing - he was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks, made great recommendations, and was very personable! He provided the best service experience we’ve had in a long time!
