   Lovely as always! View from restaurant to die for! Greeted by a most beautiful girl who brought us to the best seat of the house I reckon!! So wonderful as we were celebrating my gfs birthday! Food is always tasty n executed well except that this time my gf’s medium rare Wagyu steak arrived quite rare….. still good no doubt ; my grilled snapper fish was perfect👏🏻👏🏻😝👌 Service as always good n dessert arrived with a song n birthday candle n bday chocolate plaque n a complimentary glass of bubbly! 😋🥰🌹🌺truly amazing!!    Bathers Bistro is in the most beautiful beach setting. Our waiter was charming, helpful and watchful to our every need.

   I usually love Bathers but something was a bit off. They missed my drink order so I didn’t receive it until I chased it- after my main had arrived. My steak was fairly raw in parts and hard to eat. My dessert was delicious but took ages to arrive. Not the service and quality I’m used to so hopefully a one off experience.

   Oh my! So lovely. The service from our waitress was impeccable. Thank you so much for making our lunch so enjoyablefor our Melbourne guests! Will come again for sure.

   MICRO AGGRESSION & RACIST EXPERIENCE We were running late for our reservation and emailed ahead. I sincerely apologised for the delay upon arrival. However, a male waiter sarcastically remarked, “Only 45 minutes? Typical Vietnamese style.” As an Australian Vietnamese customer, I found this comment completely unacceptable. This is a textbook example of a microaggression—a subtle but harmful remark that reinforces racial stereotypes, against minorities. The comment implied that my lateness was due to ethnicity rather than an individual circumstance. The word “typical” further suggested that Vietnamese people are generally late and unreliable. This kind of language fosters an unwelcoming environment. The waiter was extremely rude to us during the service. After asking my friend if she was done eating, he took the plate and walked away without any acknowledgment. It was unfortunate that we had to experience this during 2025. The food and view were fantastic but that was largely overshadowed by the disgusting service.

   This is a very nice restaurant. A bit loud at lunch, but all places these days are. Food was excellent and good vallue. Vegetarians (non Vegan) are ok with ordering a few sides, as my wife did. So overall, a very nice experience.

    Fabulous place for a special lunch. Good food, great view, helpful but unobtrusive service. Nice way to show off Balmoral Beach to out of town visitors.
