Short version- unorganized, unprofessional, rude, pretentious. Long version- I made this 6:15 reservation a month in advance. It required a $100 non-refundable fee that didn’t go towards food, it just reserved our igloo. Day of, I call to add one more to my party (the igloos sat a maximum of 6 and we had 5). After giving my info, I was told my reservation was at 5:30, not 6:15. I had three text messages confirming 6:15 and my OpenTable app stated 6:15. After going back and forth over the phone for an eternity, I was told 6:15 would be fine. On my way to the reservation around 5:40, I get a phone call telling me I’m late to my 5:30 reservation. I explain to them that I had gone over this already with two separate people hours prior. They transferred me to the manager who told me 6:15 works but we really have to be out within two hours, something I agreed to when I paid my fee. He spoke to me as if he was doing me a favor when it was their screw up that got us here. We get to the reservation and are seated. Twenty minutes later, we are greeted by our server. 15 minutes after that, we finally order food. So, 35 out of the 120 minutes, and we had just put in our orders. Service was slow, but no complaints from us. 8:00 rolls around and the server takes our dessert order. At 8:15 the manager brings us dessert and the check and tells us the 2 hours are up as if we have any control over how slow the service was… They tried to charge us for the very few things included in the package (non-alcoholic cider/champagne). After we got the check paid and were getting ready to stand up, the server comes back and says a family will be waiting right outside the igloo for their reservation. Another cue to hurry up and get out as if we didn’t hear them the first two times. $335 and we were treated like trash. If I hadn’t already paid $100 for this reservation, I would’ve immediately cancelled. Absolutely horrific service. Not worth it.

The igloo itself and the food were great but after we got the food we were never checked on again. The Cavalier has been disappointing us this year with us paying a premium but not receiving premium service. And we have been fans for years! We really hope this gorgeous place will tighten things up a bit with more staff or whatever it is they have to do.

Christmas Dinner, set menu. Expecting the best, not what happened. Reservation for 2 at 8:00, Seated at 9:05. Lots of guest really upset at the inconvenience. Been here before and it was great, this time not so much, however the food was wonderful . Served at 10:00. Staff was overwhelmed, One comment: The place was not stunning as usual. Poinsettias and flowers where wilted and looked poor. Not much in the way of Christmas spirit. Certainly not worth the $300.00 + tab for two not including bar. Need some time to reconsider a next visit.

Was terrible! Do not waste your money or time. Food was average but service was terrible. Over priced! They were out of several wines, several draft beers, expresso machines were all broken- on Christmas night. Hostesses, manager and waiter were terrible and a joke. Valet service was rude! Horrible evening. Do not go here! The wine glasses had lipstick on them from previous costumers. It(and I use “it” on purpose) is a terrible place and fake elegance and very overpriced for what you get in return.

It could have been the chaos of Christmas evening, but the hostess stand seemed really unorganized. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes beyond reservation time and when our table was ready, they shouted out my name which seems really 'off' in a place like the Cavalier. Food was good, but not great -- but again, may have just been a function of the fixed menu. I'll be back becasue I love the Cavalier, but it felt less special than normal.

My husband and myself stayed at The Cavalier for 3 nights. We enjoyed our experience iimmensely. The timing of all our courses were perfect. We had a wonderful table. Definitely worth the wait to make a reservation!

We went for Christmas dinner and our server was clearly less than thrilled to be working. I won’t publicly post his name but he seemed very irritated. We were incredibly polite to him so this was shocking. I understand working Christmas is not ideal but paying customers don’t deserve to pay what they pay to be treated this way. Had I known that gratuity was automatic I would have requested a different server.
