This was the perfect spot for comfort Italian for our family of five far from home. If a place captures my grandmother’s kitchen more perfectly, I haven’t seen it.

Becco is an Italian restaurant near the theatre district. While narrow at the entrance, it extends room after room to the back. Service was prompt and sensitive to theatre show times. Tables are very close together, but since everyone is there to eat and enjoy, it only presents a problem to the claustrophobic. Appetizers were generous and very well presented. The special - lasagne Bolognese - was well put together, flavorful and rich. Even the bread and olives, put out early were top notch. The wine list is broad, but the pours for individual servings were generous. Unless you plan to finish a whole bottle, one glass should be ample. We didn't get desserts, but the dessert menu was tantalizing. Next time. Service was first rate. If you plan on going, I would advise reservations in advance, which we did. Wait times when we got there were over an hour, and on an early Thursday evening. This is good classic Italian cooking, well-presented and customer focused.

We love this place when visiting Manhattan - short walk to theaters - always delicious food, excellent service, great wine and cocktails, and super value for money. Over a decade coming to Becco, hoping for many more visits. 😊

Becco never disappoints! Celebrated 2025 with an amazing meal. We all had the Sinfonia di Paste with Caesar salad. Pastas today were: rigatoni with tomato & basil, Semolina Gnocchi alla Romana and fettuccini with veal bolognese & peas. The dishes were absolutely delicious! We shared the Panna cotta for desert.

A surprising evening in Manhattan. Becco remains an outstanding addition to the Mid Town dining scene. Very good Italian. The surprise? It remains moderately priced and an excellent value.

Sadly we didn’t have the best experience, our server rushed us to make an order, I couldn’t find anything on the menu for my 14 year old son and we had to leave! Manager came by to apologize saying kitchen is very strict but we still left , searching for other options in the neighborhood.

Parece que el mesero estaba de mal humor, porque el trato fue muy descortés y nos sentimos muy incomodos en nuestra estadía, ademas en una ensalada salió un pelo.
