   We had a bad experience here. Unfortunately they were running 30 behind on reservations. Then we had a VERY novice cook. He could only complete about 50% of the tricks they do. He dropped his items most of the time. He was not interactive at all and when he did speak you could not hear or understand him with his mask on. He just stopped doing any tricks at all because he just could not complete them. I also noted on our reservation it was a birthday celebration and they did not even mention it or do anything for my daughters 18th birthday dinner. Very disappointing all around.

   The service was horrible, didn't have anyone to refill my drink my entire meal, for the price, I expect to have a beverage with me meal... Orders were messed up for my party and was over charged for several items. The restaurant was so very uncomfortable hot, and the chair level had the smoke burning my eyes. I've done the hibachi experience many times, and never had these issues!! This was by far the worst experience I've ever had and paid a premium for it.

   We were very fortunate to have Sergio and Raymundo as a our server and chef. My son and I enjoyed the experience immensely, including the great food we ate. We love coming to Benihana in Chicago. Great job!

   Awful 3 hour meal. It took 45 minutes before we got beverages and 1.5 hrs before our chef even arrived at table despite the place being relatively empty during the lunch window that we had reserved. We complained to the manager that we were going to miss a reservation that we had 2.5 hrs after our reservation time and instead of apologizing, expressing any urgency, or offering any make good, he told us we weren’t helping anything by voicing our concern and that we would get out on time (we didn’t). Several food orders were missed or incorrectly prepared, showmanship with food prep was poor, and we noticed another group similarly at wits end due to poor service and long wait. Terrible management at this location. Never going back.

   Was not even able to dine at the restaurant because when we arrived for our 8:00 reservation, we were told they were already 45 minutes behind. We were offered a free appetizer that we could order at the bar, but no children were allowed and we had a minor in our party. Poor management and time wasted.

   We had a 7:15 reservation and weren't seated for an hour after. Our waiter kept forgetting to bring things like straws, spoons, drinks.

    I recently dined at Benihana, and I must say, it was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. Despite having a reservation, we waited an astonishing 30 minutes before being seated. Once we finally sat down, we expected the excitement of a hibachi experience, but instead, we were left waiting again—almost 20 minutes between each course. To make matters worse, we never received refills on our drinks, which felt especially neglectful. After being seated, we sat for an additional 20 minutes with nothing to occupy our time—no drinks, no appetizers, not even a friendly greeting from our server. As it was my child's birthday, we were looking forward to some special treatment, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen either. My child didn’t even receive a birthday hat, which is a standard gesture at most restaurants. To top it all off, we were shocked to find that our meals did not come with rice or noodles, which are typically standard accompaniments. For a total bill of $360, this lack of attention to detail and service was unacceptable. Overall, the experience left us frustrated and disappointed. We were looking forward to celebrating a special occasion, but instead, we left feeling neglected and underwhelmed. I cannot recommend Benihana based on this experience.
