We loved going to Big Ben when it was at the old location, just recently moved back to Charlotte and couldn’t wait to go. We were startled by how empty it was when we walked in, however it was a Tuesday and sometimes restaurants have slow nights. We ordered the beef Wellington and cottage pie. Beef Wellington is a hard dish but the center was completely raw, my husband sent it back and the server immediately got an attitude. I had to get up twice to get her attention (remember, it’s a very slow night and we are her only table). Overall it was not a great experience and we probably won’t be back.

We made a reservation on OpenTable. Drove 15 miles. The place was total chaos. Apparently it was some kind of game night. I couldn’t find a hostess or host for quite a long time. Finally, I found a manager who said there were no reservations that night because it’s game night and we were not able to eat there. Why, was there an option to make a reservation on OpenTable if it wasn’t going to be honored? We ate elsewhere.

We made a reservation for 12 pm. When we arrived there was no hostess. We had to search for someone to answer our question. It was football game day and the restaurant is the meeting place for the local club. We were told they don’t take resys for game day despite it having been confirmed. This should be reflected on the site. We lost money for parking and were unable to be seated.

We went for dinner and was very disappointed. Food was bland, tables were sticky, ketchup bottle still had the adhesive cap on it. Although we were in the dining room the noise from the bar was very loud. I guess if you’re going to watch a soccer game it’s an ok place, but stay away if you’re looking for a sit-down meal with conversation.

For a British style pub they are lacking beverage wisr. Food is good and plentiful.

Saw the England v. Switzerland match here with my stepson, and had a full English breakfast. It was fantastic meal, service, and atmosphere. If there were a few people around with English accents, it would’ve felt like England!

Hostess met Us with a Frirndly smile and Hello as soon as we walked in the front door. Had made reservations for our first visit to Big Ben Pub. We were immediately seated. Our Waitress was wonderful. Made sure we had everything throughout our Dinner without interrupting our discussions. Food was absolutely delicious! We plan on returning to Big Ben Pub again when my Sister is back in Town.

Television set was very loud, waitress was decently attentive. Food was okay. I got the cottage pie, it needed more sauce and maybe more flavor/seasoning in my opinion. Decorations are very cute & and lot to look at. Restaurant area is interesting and nice.

If you thought that roast beef and Yorkshire pudding would be impossible to find in Charlotte, think again!! And it didn't disappoint... We'll definitely be back for more!
