Xmas menu at Bill's Restaurant & Bar - Baker Street We'd seen the Xmas menu when visiting another branch for brunch and it looked like a really good selection so wanted to try. We had to pre-order our Xmas menu choices - not noted on the OpenTable site but it was straightforward to do. Th booking was fine and selections on the day were correct. However it seems we arrived at a particularly busy time. Although we were seated promptly and drink orders taken and delivered, we had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for our starter. Looking around the restaurant it looked like many diners had a similar wait to their meals to arrive. The starters were good - the soup and the king prawn, then the main arrived quite quickly afterwards. However, we both found that the turkey was overcooked - the wrapped bacon was basically burnt and inedible. As it was so busy and we had plans after lunch we did not bother to complain. The rest of the main was very good though - just spoilt by the overcooked turkey. The orange tart dessert was delicious though. As were leaving, we did see another set of diners having the turkey main and theirs looked lovely. We also noted that they were served their starter quite promptly. Just very bad timing for us then to have arrived after several large groups of diners :(
