The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

    very good sunday lunch in general. My husband did not enjoy his first helping of lamb as it was underdone and somewhat stringy and tough but this was rectified instantly. Otherwise no complaints

    Had a great lunch and food was outstanding and really enjoyed it. Great staff also and very helpful and friendly and I would recommend this place to others 👍

    I took my friend out for her birthday lunch. We chose different meals off the 3 course lunch menu and were both very happy with our meals. The restaurant had written ‘Happy Birthday on my friend’s plate, which is a very nice touch.

    Having been made welcome and shown to our seats, we chose our drinks which were delivered promptly. Also served quickly was a starter, a prawn cocktail,which had been pre-ordered to save time as one of the party needed to leave early. We had also pre- ordered our main courses - two grilled fillet of smoked haddock and one fish and chips. We finished with one rhubarb ginger meringue and one ice cream with chocolate sauce. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. As always it was a pleasure to lunch at the Bird in Hand which all three of us would highly recommend.
