Welcome to Bistro Di Marino. I hope your experience here is as fulfilling, simple and refined as the restaurant itself. We look forward to welcoming you at our one of a kind, BYOB restaurant, in the best small town in America!

Bistro di Marino is my kitchen. It’s where I get to do what I love and share it with all who pass through its doors. As you read this, we are busy in the kitchen pouring our hearts into our food. This is a love affair that goes back for many, many years and if you haven’t yet dined with us, consider this an invitation to experience four generations of my family in the place I call home.

Mangia! Mangia!

Still mopping the floor at 5:00 pm when we came in, waiter was very young and not good. Didn’t know what things were on the menu. Out of many things on the menu. Food came out cold, and not plated well, just plopped on plate. They did comp us 2 appetizers because what we ordered they were out of it. Use to be my favorite restaurant in collingswood but no more. Try other places!

This place tastes like it once used to be great. Like, the chef took pride in each course. But I am guessing that since it was franchised, a lot of the attention to detail, and flavor, was lost. Starting with the bread and pesto... the bread is clearly the cheapest bread one could buy from a local grocery store which is a shame because there is a french bakery literally a quarter mile up the street with amazing baguette. But instead we were served what equates to the wonderbread of baguette. We started with the calamari which was pretty well done. Also had some gnocchi which tasted dense and the sauce was lackluster. We brought 2 bottles of wine with us and the server said he was going to get ice for them... he came back with two glasses of ice cubes instead of an ice bucket. I mean, come on, thats just poor employee training (even though he was very polite and professional). My wife's main course was a chicken parm, which had very thin and tough i.e. overcooked chicken with clearly unmelted slices of mozzarella cheese on it, as if it was served from a deli counter instead of a fresh cheese ball or even shredded mozzarella. She said it tasted ok, but the table shook as she attempted to cut her rubbery chicken. My bolognaise was probably the star of the show, no complaints there and compliments to the chef! We tried to get lemoncello cheesecake for dessert, but they were all out... even though it was 6pm on a saturday night. How are you out of dessert at that time?!? We got some tiramisu instead which was quite good. We then paid our bill and didnt receive the change until we asked for it 20 minutes later. The change equated to a 14% tip and we wanted to leave 25% but needed that change to leave the proper amount. Eventually we got our change and left the 25% tip, but seriously, poor employee training here again, not the servers fault. Even though the food was mostly adequate, we wont be returning.

We had a great experience on a Friday night in December. Servers and management visited the table often. Prior to dining I had an issue with a gift card not getting delivered and when I reached out, it was fixed extremely quickly! I’ll continue to be a loyal customer!

Meal was amazing. Had a gnocchi appetizer - the best. Gorgonzola salad - yummy. Chicken Saltimbocca - delicious. Tiramisu - definitely homemade and amazing. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Ambiance was great. Manager was so welcoming. I thought the prices were great. Will definitely be going back. Just a solid meal. And I am Italian and picky!

The gnocchi were good but the gravy and meatballs were overpowered by oregano. Oregano in gravy and meatballs…not good. Seems like the cook doesn’t know Italian.

Had a 7:30 reservation. Were told upon arrival that they had overbooked and at a minimum would be a 45 min wait. As the wait would be out in the street we decided to leave and go somewhere else.
