   Great ambience and menu. I had the special of the evening which was swordfish that was a nice thick cut but a little over cooked.

   After reading all of the positive reviews on bistro, we were looking forward to trying it for our first time the experience did not meet our expectations. We arrived promptly for a 630 reservation and receded at the high tops in the bar area, which was quite comfortable. Kelly just took our order and after an extremely long wait our orange duck special and bistro chicken arrived however, we had audited BChicago appetizer and they completely forgot it. Kelly did offer to get us the escargot, but we really did not wanna eat our appetizer after we ate our main course..  Duck L’orange is one of my go to dishes and the sauce on this ‘special’ was somewhat watery for my taste. My companions bistro chicken in her words was disappointing.. To the restaurant’s credit due to the escargot snafu they gave us a free dessert and the bread pudding was absolutely wonderful..

   We had a 7pm reservation on Thanksgiving. When we arrived and checked in at the hostess stand we were advised it would be about a 15 minute wait and the hostess suggested we could sit at the outdoor bar. We took seats there and the bartender was delightful. The hostess checked on us, at the bar, after about 10 minutes and advised she had 3 more parties to sit before us. When we hadn't been seated by 7:50 we elected to eat at the bar. The hostess never came back for us. My food was marginal, mushroom soup that was more like a mushroom puree and a solid portion of lamb chops served at room temperature with no color on them that were sat up on the same gravy being used for turkey and prime rib. My partner has better luck with his salad and ravioli. Through it all, the bartender, Kristen, was wonderful. I did speak with the manager at the end of our meal to alert him to the fact that the hostess basically forgot us and that the bartender was exceptional. He apologized and comped us dessert.

   Apologies for the delay with your reservation, but on investigation I believe the bartender made the hostess aware of the fact that you elected to eat at the bar because of the delay, so she didnt see the need to return, having received that information. Re: the Lamb we do use a Rosemary Red Wine Jus as the garnish for both the Prime Rib and the Chops but a Turkey Gravy for the Turkey is different. We do put a lot od Mushrooms in our Soup so it can be on the thicker side. Apologies if you prefer something thinner. Glad the manager was able to hear and deal with your concerns.

    Food was very bad. Cold desserts straight from the fridge, undercooked meat, beggars food. Not worth the price. On top of all that they are even rude, instead of working on the quality of their food. Don't worry, my review is not going to change the opinion of hundreds others.

    Some of our desserts are meant to be straight from the fridge. Always happy to add temperature or fix any issues with a slightly undercooked piece of meat, if we are made aware of this on the day. The Beggars Food comment is just insulting and unwarranted as evidenced by the majority of our 5 star reviews, including the day you visited despite the fact that we served over 700 people. I would suggest that Your opinion will carry more weight when expressed with a sense of courtesy. A lot of people work very hard on a family holiday to produce what was extremely well received by the vast majority of our guests. Yes you are entitled to an opinion, just no need to be disrespectful.
