Bittersweet Co. is located in one of the few historically protected buildings in town, originally built in 1906 for the Hopkinton Supply Company. You can still see the sign from the front of the building. Little did this building know that in the 21st century it would house art displays which would become some of the most photographed art in town by the social media generation. When it came to fitting out Bittersweet, the owner, CJ, asked the people of the town what they were looking for. What we have today is a representation of their requirements for a village café. Hospitality is a very simple equation: ask them what they want, and give it to them.

We are always pushing the boundaries in our food and drink portfolios. Our Padear sandwich has become an iconic representation of our scratch kitchen mentality. Our lavender latte has also become a staple testament to our out of the box outlook.

We had not been to Bittersweet since it reopened with evening hours. It was a very pleasant surprise. The place is decorated so nicely and has a warm and cozy feel to it. The service provided to our table was excellent. The waiter attended to our every need, made great recommendations on the menu and I am pretty sure was doing quite a bit of the cooking as well. We were a table of four women and shared about five or six different items from the menu. Everything was delicious. The portions were ample and we enjoyed each dish we ordered. Especially the cheeseboard and the Buffalo chicken dip! The waiter surprised us with a small dish of lemon sorbet for each of us after the check was presented. It was a very nice treat and appreciated by all of us. We will absolutely return to Bittersweet!!

This place is an absolute gem. We got the veggie board, garlic mushrooms and lettuce wraps, and they were all excellent. Sangria had lots of fresh berries in it and was also excellent. The decor is very quirky and eclectic and just kind of works. Wish I could do the same. Some of the tapas were Asian, but that also just kind of worked with the more traditional Spanish dishes. Would love to see patatas bravas on the menu but they have plenty of great selections now! We will definitely go back.

Food was poor!! Service decent. Shrimp were ridiculously tiny and pale! Very in appealing.
