Menu is not a value for the price. Sad that they have a $20M venue and can’t do signature dishes. Service albeit friendly was inconsistent and misses in timely service and standards like bread are common place. Hoping the F&B Director can bring some life into the facility and bring it back to a dining destination.

This restaurant is beautiful and the view is gorgeous. However, none of the lights outside the front door were lit and therefore the entry was not only icy and slippery but also so dark that we questioned whether the restaurant was open and also presented a significant safety hazard. So I mentioned my concerns to the hostess as we were seated. Our server was slow and 3 of the 4 entrees we ordered were incorrectly prepared (the salmon was cold, the filet which was ordered medium rare was well done, and one was a different entree than what was ordered). Although the restaurant quickly provided the correct entree, they must have commandeered someone else’s order to accommodate my husband. The servers comment upon realizing that she had ordered the wrong entree was that since we had shared several appetizers that we “would not wither away”. The wine was not presented before being opened at our table. The server did not wait for us to approve before pouring /leaving the table. As we were leaving, the lights at the front door were still off. While we were waiting for the car to pull around, the hostess locked the the front doors (8:30pm with a half a dozen tables still seated) and her comment was that she was locking people out. In my mind it is inappropriate to lock the front door while numerous patrons are seated particularly since the foyer is separated from the hostess stand and should any patron need to retrieve an item from the car or step out for a moment they would not be able to re-enter. In all a disappointing experience for a restaurant with so much potential (although it was memorable for all the wrong reasons). We did not stay for dessert.

The bartender did a great job with our drink order. And the server was kind, too. Our dinner took a long time to receive it. My husband was given a complimentary glass of wine and then a complimentary dessert to share among the 4 of us. My husband's steak was tough. This is not the first steak he has ordered and they have never been up to par. The remaining three of us got the Sturgeon. It was hot, but it was dry. Maybe take a closer look to the number and size of reservations, particularly during the holidays, and add an extra server/cook - whatever it takes to be on time and paying closer attention to the preparation of the food.

We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate Mom's 80th birthday. Our server, Maria, was excellent. We enjoyed the Sourdough Chocolate Cake with a candle, compliments of the house.

I left a note with my reservation that my partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and both of our birthdays that night (he lives out of town and flew in to celebrate) and our server never mentioned anything but we saw the table next to us receiving a special surprise birthday dessert. He didn’t seem to know anything about the menu or the bar and wasn’t very attentive. I was a bit disappointed since we let the restaurant know of our celebrations. Food took forever to come out and then was a bit bland and underwhelming for the price. It’s just not really worth it. It’s a resort restaurant so I guess I shouldn’t have expected so much, but for the price and the reviews, I was quite disappointed.

the food is well cooked but entirely unimaginative. If the restaurant means to offer a way for people staying at Black Butte to get a simple meal without having to cook it themselves, it succeeds in that aim. It is the off-season, end of October, so it is also possible that everything has been stripped down to winter survival mode.

Food was terrific but floor staff was running scared all night. Hostess had us wait in the lobby then forgot about us for half an hour. No one on the floor to supervise and pull it all together. Trying to order a bottle of wine was hopeless; at some point we flagged a busser and ordered by the glass. A shame that such good food can’t be enjoyed because of the randomness of the service. Wild Rye does a much better job of this kind of dining experience.
