   Enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch at the newly opened Black Hide Queens Wharf. In short, the lunch we enjoyed was simply right up there as the very best. It wasn’t just the delicious food selection, and how it was cooked, or the impeccable service received, or the festive decorations, but the whole experience which truly captured the spirit of Christmas for us. From the second we entered, until the moment of leaving, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even the Christmas carollers were wonderful touch!! Thank you very much to all the staff at Black Hide. Happy New Year, and you’ll definitely see us dining with you again.

   Very good food with a nice view! Staff a little bit inflexible… our table was not really stable and they weren’t able to fix it and just offered to move inside the restaurant (too cold for us). We fixed it ourselves 😀 Food was very good and big portions.

   Has to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. Absolutely zero customer service. Not once were we checked on and we had to chase someone down to order. The worst thing was this was for my husband’s birthday and it was nowhere near the experience I would want for a normal meal out, let alone a birthday celebration. Not even a mention of, we’re celebrating someone’s birthday today (when I put these details in the booking). Our child’s meal was completely forgotten, after asking for it to be brought straight out. She had to wait until after our meals (and you can imagine how a 6 year old was handling that). We did get her meal for free in the end with a “merry Christmas” comment thrown in by the waiter. An absolutely disappointing experience and to see the restaurant wasn’t even full, there were plenty of staff - I’m really unsure how it could go so wrong. Definitely need some customer service training!

   The service and entrees were above average. However, the steaks we had for the mains weren't that great. The tomahawk had a lot of fat (like, a lot), and the T-bone was thin and poorly seasoned.

   We dined at Black Hide over lunch for an end of year function arriving around 12.10. We were first served with sparkling water instead of tap water (which we were later charged for). After ordering our meals took well over an hour to arrive, with us needing to follow up with staff before them arriving around 1.40. The steak was well undercooked compared to what we had ordered, medium which was sent back as it was basically rare. Our chips were also undercooked and went soggy and cold within minutes. Quite a disappointing experience given the price of the meal and the expected calibre of Gambaro.
