The Blue Agave Mexican Cantina is a neighborhood restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona that combines the lively atmosphere of a Neighborhood Mexican Restaurant with the comforting flavors of traditional Mexican fare. Entree's include Ultimate Chimichanga, Fish Tacos, Pork Arrepas and more. The bar at Blue Agave Mexican Cantina serves specialty margaritas, such as the Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita, El Maestro( Top Shelf Margarita) and Blueberry sunrise. They were understaffed at the hostess desk resulting in a longer than expected wait with a line forming. Service was average, they missed several opportunities to do better. Food was good and well portioned for the price. The atmosphere was odd. Lots of large families and a ton of noise. Overall it was not horrible but I wouldn’t rush to go back anytime soon.

We have been pretty regular customers for many years. The service is the #1 area for improvement. It seems that the last 2 times we dined on a Friday night, the servers took orders, dropped drinks and food, and only came back to leave the bill. We ordered two ginger beers and had to educate the server that these are non-alcoholic and that you have this, as she was unsure what it was. No worries. We had food on the table before a drink, including ice water. We had to ask for water on our last two visits. Our server never checked back on refills or how our food was until we finished our meal. We were forced to ask our food runner for a refill of salsa, or we would have to wait until we were done with our meal. You guys have a great restaurant, a solid menu, and a great location, but the service needs to be improved.

Our waitress made it. She was attentive and thoughtful. I wish I remembered her name but she was absolutely wonderful.

Took my family out for lunch and have eaten here many times. Food was as good as always. Service was poor. Server never came to check on us or refill our drinks. Just an overall disappointing experience and the restaurant wasn’t busy whatsoever

Good food and service. Had the daily special so the prices were very reasonable, plus the drinks were great. Live entertainment added to the ambiance. Will go back again.

The service and food were great. I requested a high top and they sat us at a regular table, but we were still comfortable. They were very busy and short staffed but still provided very prompt and friendly service!

We had a great experience for our first time at Blue Agave. Our server Eddie was attentive and friendly. The food tasted authentic and the blueberry margarita was fantastic. We will definitely go back.
