With one of the most picturesque dining settings in Coronado, the Boathouse is situated on the water, where you can enjoy the romantic views of Glorietta Bay. The iconic cupola-adorned landmark was built in 1887 as a design prototype for the Hotel del Coronado located across the street.

Bluewater Boathouse may be reached by water taxi, the Coronado Bay bridge or via the Silver Strand. The upstairs lounge host Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 3:00pm till 6:00pm and dinner service Friday and Saturday at 4:00pm. Banquet rooms are available for day or evening rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, corporate events and military functions. Surrounded by historical character, stunning views of the Bay and a pristine fresh menu, Bluewater Boathouse is a must see culinary destination.

Server didn’t come for a while to ask if we wanted anything. I wanted to order another drink and she came to say “would you like some boxes” so it made us feel liken we’re being rushed out so we left after that

If you’re looking for a seafood restaurant in San Diego with old-world charm and a classic nautical theme, this spot on the water—right across from the Hotel del Coronado—is a fantastic choice. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a seaside feel that perfectly complements the fresh seafood offerings. The ponzu sashimi scallops and tuna poke appetizers were outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. My cioppino was excellent, though the portion was a bit small. However, the sourdough bread more than made up for it—crusty, tangy, and perfect for soaking up the broth. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable. Great service, delicious food, and an unbeatable waterfront location. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Coronado!
