Bocanova is a Pan-American Grill & Restaurant celebrating new world ingredients, many of which are often associated with the old world because of their heavy influence on our favorite European cuisines.

Where would Italy be without corn (polenta) and tomatoes, or Ireland without potatoes, or France without haricots vert and pole beans all of which originated in the new world. What would Asian cuisine be without peppers and rice and this is just the tip of the iceberg. We aim To celebrate the bounty of New World ingredients through the creative interpretation of indigenous dishes from South, Central and North America.

To provide a casual environment that encourages our guests to nourish both body and soul through the sharing of meals with friends and family.

Join us, Saturday April 26th for an absolutely unique experience of Uruguay! We will be joined by Gabriel Pisano from one of the best known Uruguayan Wine making families, the Pisanos. A 4th generation winemaker who has worked for: Clos Apalta in Chile under Michel Rolland, David Ramey Wine Cellars (Sonoma), Beyers Truter, of Beyerskloof (Stellenbosch), probably the most famous winemaker from South Africa and Mas Doix, one of the smallest but most prized cult wines from the Priorat (Catalonia, Spain) Gabriel will expertly and graciously walk you through each wine, explaining the origin, reason and wine making techniques of his experimental wine project called Viña Progreso. I used to go to the orginal location in Jack London Square, which had a wonderful atmosphere, nice booths and tables, the food was excellent. The new location has a completely different vibes, feels like a quick lunch spot, outdoor chairs inside, food presentation average, taste good. Just not as nice as prior location. The hostess was rude, didn't welcome us. Our sever was kind and excellent, she really improved the experience.

Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We ordered the beef empanadas; the filling was bland and the pastry was thick and the dough was thick and gummy. We also ordered the petrale sole sandwich. The fish was minuscule, the avocado was only on half of the sandwich and what was advertised as "spicy" was insipid. Lastly, our waiter was not attentive. He asked us how the food was and we responded with sad faces below average. His response was okay, and he walked away from our table. We will not return to Bocanova and will not recommend it to friends as a lunch spot.

A lovely and delicious Friday lunch on BocaNova’s patio. We tried delicious and utterly fresh yellowtail two ways- the first a wonderful tiradito, raw slices with a slight spicy sauce and diced mango . The second perfectly cooked pieces on a bed of sautéed eggplant over an avocado purée. It was melt in your mouth delicious! Desert was the chocolate cake with flan and raspberries. Quite a way to end another great meal. Thanks to Chef Rick, Martín, Daniel, and all the staff for such good food.

Good date night spot with some availability on a Friday evening. We flew in for the weekend and we're pleased to find such a good spot conveniently located near our hotel.

Always delicious and interesting dining at BocaNova. Enjoyed a perfectly cooked omelet with tasty Brooklyn fries ( a crispy potato patty). The salmon special was also perfectly cooked.

Food had good flavor, though didn't feel it matched the price tag (I understand prices are up all around and businesses need to pay the bills so I wasn't mad about the value) ; had a really nice cocktail from the Special list. We were there on a Thurs night and the dining room was empty (except for us), so it felt odd. A few folks came in later. Server was engaging and knowledgeable. Considering how few folks were dining, we felt service could have been more attentive.
