Bombay Bustle is inspired by the tiffin tin carriers, the institution of men who use Mumbai’s famed local railway to deliver home cooked meals across the city. The Maddox Street restaurant pays homage to the culture and people, whose expanse of origins from across India have influenced its culinary history.

The menu sees recreations of some of the city’s most loved dishes alongside family recipes. Seasonal delights, inspired by Mumbai and the surrounding areas, include Bambaiya Ragda topped with dry peas and honey yogurt , Pickling spice Lamb chop , Rarah Kheema Pao and a Jalebi Cheesecake with Bombay Cutting Chai .

The food is amazing and the staff were so nice. The only weird thing was at the end we were charged service on our bill (at 2% which felt really low) and then a cover charge of 12.5% which they said went to the restaurant. The cover charge was also charged on the service. I was disappointed that our money seemed to disproportionately go to the restaurant rather than the service charge.

Not anywhere near the hype online. Disappointing rather. Got seated at our table, no menus for food/drinks given. Another waiter walked by 10 mins later and asked us if we’d had menus… Some of our food was forgotten, completely ruining the money again. Food was below par, lamb was undercooked. Will definitely not be returning or recommending to anyone else.

The staff were very friendly and good service. Food was good but extremely spicy even for a family who love spicy foods and are use to it! Maybe it should be pointed out at time of ordering. The main course portions were small not a lot of chicken or lamb but lots of sauce! Food came too fast and place empty by 10.30 on a Saturday in Mayfair London .

Great location, very friendly and excellent service. Starters of fish tikka and veg chat were delicious. Main course cod curry was disappointing. Rather chewy. The biryani was fine. The spinach and garlic naan were excellent. We had a good value bottle of Laurent Perrier which was topped up regularly, as was our tap water. Would definitely recommend but stay clear of the cod. There is a lot to love about this restaurant starting with the food: elegantly prepared and presented with classic flavors and a modern flair. Delicious. The wine list was comprehensive and reasonably priced for most bottles. The service was attentive and courteous. My only major gripe is that this restaurant is now playing the same game of multiple unclear surcharges that are now part of the dining experience in many restaurants. I am AOK with service charges for the waitstaff and their 2.5% was modest and needed topping off. But they had a 10% additional charge that I was told goes back to the restaurant and not the staff. But they couldn’t or wouldn’t explain why. Why not just add it to the food prices. Probably because reviewers already gripe about the prices. But that charge felt devious and took away from an almost flawless experience. The decor on the main floor could use a little sprucing up but that was a minor gripe.

Overpriced. Too spicy and portion sizes are small. Went there for a birthday celebration and they put a candle on the dessert we ordered rather than a separate dish. Wine selection - bottle we wanted was not there. Champagne served was flat and not chilled.
