   Not bad, but we probably won’t go out of our way to drive to Denham Springs from Baton Rouge to eat there again. The receptionist and our server were lovely. The place was packed on a Saturday night so I was glad we had a 7:00 PM reservation. We were seated promptly, while walk-ins had to wait. They started us off with delicious hot bread. My husband and I shared two appetizers: mussels in a tomato sauce and fried calamari. Both were good. We demolished the mussels and ate about half of the large serving of calamari; would have been enough to share with another couple. We both had the Italian side salad and felt the balsamic dressing was sweeter than we like. They were out of redfish so I had to choose another dish. I went with the shrimp scampi over linguine. The pasta was properly cooked and the white wine, butter and cream sauce was delicious. The shrimp were over cooked, tough, and overly seasoned. The portion was huge, so I took half of it home. My husband had the breaded and pan seared pork chop with garlic roasted potatoes. The pork chop was tough; definitely have had better. We skipped dessert. The restaurant itself is very nice. It is divided into rooms which keeps the noise down and allows dinner companions to easily converse. They had two large (18-20) family dinner parties going on in two of the rooms at the time. The groups, which included children, were able to enjoy themselves in privacy without being an annoyance to other diners. Good place to keep in mind if you need a place for a multi-generational family celebratory dinner.

   Thanks for the review. It sounds like your night was good with little not so great mixed in. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed most of it but unfortunately it sounded like we came up a little short. The pork chop is one our most popular dished however it sounds like it might have been a little over cooked as were the shrimp. We do apologize for that and hope that you give us another chance to make it up.

   Reviews said portions were small, they were not small. Took home some of it and I was full. Food was very good and our waitress Isabella took care of our needs. Was not loud and we had an enjoyable night.

   My girlfriend and I dined at Bonta del Forno Ristorante for Valentine’s Day and had a mixed experience. Despite our 9 PM reservation, we waited for our table to be prepared and were seated near the bar with a clear view into the kitchen, which detracted from the romantic ambiance we anticipated. Service was notably slow; our waiter visited our table multiple times before taking our drink orders and bringing bread. On a positive note, the calamari appetizer was delicious and generously portioned. However, the 8 oz steak, priced at $60, was served with only about five roasted potatoes. While the steak tasted good, its presentation was lackluster, and the portion size didn’t justify the high price. I had the salmon with zucchini for $32; the salmon was well-cooked and attractively presented, but the vinegar flavor and unpleasant smell were off-putting. Overall, while some dishes were enjoyable, the combination of service delays, ambiance issues, and certain culinary disappointments made our Valentine’s dinner less special than we had hoped.

   Food was delicious. We went early so it was quiet and the light jazz music playing was nice. Server was fabulous.

   Our experience was amazing! We were all impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. The food was amazing! Our waitress was great too! We will definitely be back.
