   Bowdies is one of our favorite restaurants. We had never had a disappointing experience until last night. One member of our party ordered halibut. In a word it was inedible. The fish could barely be cut with a knife and our friend described it as “cardboard”. How this meal was allowed to even leave the kitchen is baffling. We did let our server know and she handled the situation very well, so I have no complaint whatsoever about her (Liz), and we would gladly have her as our server about. Also, the restaurant manager came by. He comped the meal and offered to bring something else. He was very apologetic and tried very hard to make it right. I’m hoping this is a teaching moment for someone. This was an isolated incident and we will be back, but in a restaurant of this caliber and these prices, this should be in what we call in medicine a “never event”.

   Atmosphere good. Service good. Wine good apps and sides good. Funny thing the steak was just ok. It was such a surprise. Would like to try again to see if maybe an off piece of meat.

   Our experience at Bowdies was completely disrupted by a drunk patron who felt entitled to spend half an hour loitering near the bar waiting for his takeout where we were trying to enjoy our dinner, yelling obscenities in the course of telling a long story to the bartenders. At one point, he had to be stopped from taking a bottle down and encouraging other patrons to drink straight from it. The staff handled this man as well as they could, but we learned after he left that he is a “very generous” regular whose entitled, rude behavior is apparently tolerated because he spends a lot of money at the restaurant. We were equal parts annoyed and amused at the scene he caused, but are glad that a meal out like this is a casual occurrence for us and it wasn’t a special occasion we’d saved for, and upon further reflection, don’t think one person’s obnoxious behavior should be allowed to impact the other customers in this kind of setting. Kudos to the staff for doing their best with this customer, but I’d encourage the management to revisit their policy of tolerating disruptive jerks at the expense of other diners. We won’t be eager to return.

   Bowdie’s Gaslight Village NEVER ceases to disappoint. The food is out of this world and so consistent visit after visit. The staff are so professional and friendly when you first walk in the door to meeting your server. Gabriel took very good care of us. Thank you.

   First time experience and it was great. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

    Our entire experience at Bowdie’s was amazing. The service was superb and they all made my parents 50th wedding anniversary feel very special. The food was amazing, everything from the seafood tower to the steak. I can’t express enough gratitude for the amazing time we had.
