   I honestly didn’t know much about Boxer when I booked. Follow them on Instagram, but don’t see their posts often. Luckily, they were on my local restaurant list & made a reservation there for our weekly Wednesday dinners at various local Edmonton restaurants, for my brother’s birthday. First of all, I LOVE that it is down an alley. It’s very fun & cool & very not Edmonton. Secondly, the decor is so eclectic and wonderful. I absolutely loved the space. I felt like a tourist with all the photos I was taking. Thirdly, our server was wonderful. Robyn is bubbly and fun and told us the coolest history of the building (which should be on the menu), but it was so fun to hear the story from her & the cool way it was heated back in the day (also think they should do $10 tours for charity). Finally, the food. Truly delicious. The presentation and flavour were fantastic. The farrow served with the chicken….UNBELIEVABLE! My friend ordered the kale salad with her salmon and I was teasing that kale should be outlawed. She said the salad was great, so I tried a tiny bite and it was very good. I’ve never tasted good kale. I guess the secret is in the massage and looks like Boxer massages their kale! My brother also had the salmon with the regular risotto side and really enjoyed it & his friend had the steak frites which was cooked to perfection & the fries looked really good. My brother finished with the apple jack creme brule, but I never asked how it was, the dish was totally clean though when we were finished chatting with Robyn. I am so happy Boxer was on my list & that I made the reservation.

   The service at Boxee was some of the best I have experienced in Edmonton. The food is delicious and the atmosphere of Boxer is cozy with a low level of volume while dining with other guests.

   Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The bar is beautiful and the drink selection is creative and delicious. A must go to for some cocktails

   We had an excellent experience at this “cocktail forward” venue - and the food stands out on its own, too! The vibe first of all was awesome. I started with a non alcoholic cocktail that was creative and refreshing, and definitely one to sip and savour. I followed up asking for something in the same space as a negroni which is one of my favourites, and was treated to a highly creative rum based riff with just the right amount of bitterness and body. It wasn’t on the menu, so they solved my ask by making something special! I enjoyed the Cornish game hen very much; the pickled shiitakes offered a refreshing acidity to complement the nutty farro. The game hen was cooked well with a delightful sauce and good textural contrast. My husband enjoyed a couple of creative and satisfying cocktails, and the beef rib was tender and flavourful. Service the entire evening was friendly and personable, and we got the sense that those working there were passionate about what they were doing. Great place and we will be back!

   Nice ambiance ( nit too loud) with fabulous cocktails. We all loved the appetizers especially the pork belly! The stuffed acorn squash was excellent as well.

   Great food and ambience. Fantastic cocktail menu. Server was attentive and very personable. I had the boneless short rib and it was delicious and very tender. The only thing that would have made it better was a better balance of veggies to the meat portion, but that’s just me. Dessert was creative, light and a great finish to the meal. Would come here again!

   First time there New Years Eve. It blew me away. The menu was creative, smart, well executed, with lots of technicalities. It was outstanding, definitely check this place out.

   Just got in from a ticketed three-course meal event. Though the pricing was fair, considering the other available events this evening around the city, the service was subpar. We were one of the earlier seatings this evening. Some of the food items that came out were tepid in temperature. And the donut that was part of dessert felt like it had been deep fried and left to sit in its own oil for far too long. Fairly disappointed considering my other visits to boxer in the past have been much more positive. I'm hoping that maybe they were short-staffed or just getting to the flow for the evening. And that later seedings will have a better experience.

    Not a huge menu but everything we tried was outstanding. The service was on point and the cocktail list is endless. Having lived in Vancouver for years we are always searching for a unique dining experience. This is the closest we’ve gotten from the YEG places in ambiance. Well done! And yes this is located in the alley in the old Lola’s martini bar. Right across from the old bus barns/Strathcona Farmers market. Add Boxer to your must try list!
