We've been here several times, this time the host was very rude to a party who was at the door before us, so rude that they left!! He then made an uncalled for remark about them leaving to us!! We had a problem with one of our steak entre....it was taken back, but came out worse the 2nd time. This experience was disappointing since we've dinner here prior and brought friends with us who were never there. It certainly did not impress them to want to come back.

The food is always great but the open mistreatment of the waitstaff by the manager is very disrespectful of the staff and especially the diners. It was not very crowded and the verbal abuse of the staff was appalling while we were dining. It makes diners very uncomfortable and that is a shame because the food is always great. We have been here probably 6 times over the past 20 years and each time we leave we say we are never coming back here because of this situation, then time goes by and we say lets try it again and the same thing happens and it ruins the meal!! We are not the only people who know this situation to be true. I will say most nights it is crowded so if you don't mind the abuse definitely go you will have great food.!! We will not be returning!

We had a wonderful meal there. It was our first time and we will definitely be back. Four of us shared a couple of apps and then each had an entree. No one was disappointed. We also shared two soufflé- if you can save room they were terrific. We also love that it’s BYOB.

Absolutely horrible from beginning to end. Had a reservation for New Year’s Eve at 8:15pm for a party of 4. Upon arrival, my party was waiting for 20 minutes just to check in at the front desk because of the line backed up. Even once checking in we were waiting for another 10-15 minutes to be sat down at a table which was not even inside the restaurant. We were cold outside in the tent area that was setup, and after waiting 15 minutes for ice and water, had to ask to be moved inside. The same girl who checked us in and informed us she didn’t even work there and was just helping out, was also the same one that moved our tables and took our order. We finally got our dinner around 9:45, an hour and a half after our reservation. The atmosphere was very loud and while waiting for the bathroom, someone in my party was even hit with a door since it is connected to the kitchen. After all of this and $100 off due to a gift certificate, our total was around $210 for four dinners and 2 appetizers. The short rib was over $60, horribly cooked and barely eaten. Steaks were nothing special for a price of over $60 for just one with one side of garlic mashed potatoes. I wish I never made this reservation for New Year’s Eve as myself and my guests were extremely disappointed. Worst dining experience I’ve ever had.

We arrived for our 8:15 reservation. There was a line out the door. We stood there for 25 minutes and the line didn’t move. The blond guy who’s always there as the host did not bother to address the crowd, tell anyone what was happening and why no one could be seated. He basically just ignored the issue. There were tables in the porch seating area who were just sitting there and clearly uncomfortable with the line of people hovering around them, and none of them were getting any service. We were speaking to others in line who were all frantically looking on their phones trying to make other arrangements as it was clear there was no hope for Brandl. We ended up leaving, calling Rooney’s, driving 25 minutes and Rooney’s was kind enough to get us a table at 9:30 and we had a beautiful meal there instead. This is our last straw at Brandl. Until they fire this blond guy and get better service, they will remain hopeless in our eyes.

Completely screwed up NYE. Line was out the door with reservation for hour. No explanation or apology was offered. Just overbooked and overwhelmed. Everyone ended up leaving.

Awful. Had a 7:30 reservation for NYE. Also called to confirm. Arrived to mayhem. About 50 people waiting all with reservations. People bailed. Even seated people left as they were waiting 45 mins and had not ordered yet. Heard food was not good. Hostess did not acknowledge the situation. We left and had a wonderful evening elsewhere.
