   Special thanks to the Duty Manager who was on duty on the 15 March 2025 who made my husbands birthday extra special. The Duty Manager, sorry did not get his name, was going the extra mile to help ensure everyone's evening, including ours, was special. You could tell he is passionate about what he does and customer service - huge thank you to him. Excellent food and excellent cocktails. Thank you

   We thought the man behind the bar was very helpful and very professional. It would’ve been nice to have a cold drink as an option and a scone with no currents in as my goddaughter doesn’t like currents.

   We enjoy Abode, the sharing plates(tapas) were very good, we come regularly. The main restaurant was very quiet so we opted to eat in the cocktail bar area where there was a bit more life, which was good.

   I had expected to eat lunch in the restaurant but we were told that the restaurant is only open in the evening .Nowhere on Open Table is this explained. So the only menu available was bar menu . Luckily one of the staff arranged with the kitchen to serve us from the main menu . We still had to eat in the bar at a small table and armchairs.

   sandwiches were a little stale with not much choice. cakes were gorgeous. beautiful setting. service was not good enough! no one asked if we wanted tea refills, milk or sugar..

   Staff were lovely - music in restaurant was repetitive monotonous digital instrumental. Food was really good but the crowd repeatedly taking instagram pics in the restaurant entrance really detracted from what could have been an overall good experience. No atmosphere in the restaurant itself - with a little care this is a lovely venue. Came here 5yrs ago and it was truly special. Needs to bring that feeling back.

   We enjoyed our experience overall. The front of house staff were welcoming and talked about how the menu was sourced. My daughter loved her burger and our small plates were full of flavour. We ordered steak and unfortunately the béarnaise sauce was split and tasteless. The sticky toffee pudding was great.

   Excellent tapas-style food and service was attentive and professional. Background music was a little loud perhaps, hence only 4 stars for ambience. We will be back though!
