Brasserie la Banque is a neighborhood French restaurant nestled in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Paying homage to traditional French cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment, Brasserie la Banque celebrates life's memorable moments from impromptu drinks to convivial gatherings and leisurely meals. Led by owner and industry veteran Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the restaurant is a culmination of Palmer's work and his passion for the classic French brasserie and its cuisine. The menu features a selection of traditional French dishes alongside more innovative fare. Aptly named for its previous role as a city bank, Brasserie la Banque is located within the iconic 1 Broad Street corner building that dates back to the 1700s.

My husband and I came for my birthday. I truly cannot remember a time in recent years where a restaurant honestly went out if the way to make me feel so special. The food was the perfect compliment to such thoughtful service. We cannot wait to return!

Beautiful space but the food was disappointing, Indigo Road usually has good restaurants so that was surprising.

Me beef bourgoin (sp) was very good. The meat portion was nice, but the potatoes, vegetables and stew were lacking and not enough, basically served in a small cereal bowl. I didn't feel the portion size matched the price and just had to finish eating the meat without the other. Other meals and desserts were nice.

We waited for a while for our table. Gave us complimentary wine which was nice. Table was a bit small for 6 people, but were given a chair a bit into our dinner. Still love dining here

Good drinks, steak tartar was good, bread service was good though bread was a little dry and tough, I wish it was warmer, but still good. Steak and butternut squash was very good. The beef bourguignon was good though very salty, I’m not sure if it was meant to be like that but I did not finish because I couldn’t take the salty. Great service and do check out the downstairs speak easy!

Dined with a large group of work colleagues for our holiday celebration. The restaurant made us feel very welcome. Service was a little slow (so French!) but that may have been because it was a large party with big orders. I think we all would not hesitate to return however. The food was wonderful and prices were in line with other restaurants of the same caliber.

Staff went over the top to accommodate us after a snafu seating us. Alice and other staff were delightful.

Pretentious! Service selectively slow- the more pricey your choices the more efficient the service. For a restaurant that purports to be French/ have French ambience, no one responded to French. Food pedestrian.
