Brasserie la Banque is a neighborhood French restaurant nestled in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Paying homage to traditional French cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment, Brasserie la Banque celebrates life's memorable moments from impromptu drinks to convivial gatherings and leisurely meals. Led by owner and industry veteran Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the restaurant is a culmination of Palmer's work and his passion for the classic French brasserie and its cuisine. The menu features a selection of traditional French dishes alongside more innovative fare. Aptly named for its previous role as a city bank, Brasserie la Banque is located within the iconic 1 Broad Street corner building that dates back to the 1700s.

Everything was wonderful. We had manhattans and escargot as starters. Manhattans were excellent but overpriced. My wife had the duck and I had the chicken. Everything was delicious.

The website says the dress is business casual, but it was casual casual! Very touristy, men in shorts and hoodies. My husband wore a sport coat, and I wore a dress. We were VERY overdressed. The waitress spilled food on my husband’s shoes, but it really wasn’t her fault because the cheese board we ordered was way too crowded with items. Next, a waiter had just bussed a table and had a large stack of plates with too much silverware, the waiter actually knicked my arm with a knife. I don’t think he even realized it. Food was not good and not good quality. The building is gorgeous, the lighting and ambience are lovely. Food was not good.

Absolutely perfect. Pastries, caviar, eggs bennie, Espresso Tinis and Ruinart. Always the best brunch in town.

An excellent choice recommended by a Charleston “local.” Very cool space in a converted old bank building. Convenient location for visitors, yet refreshingly away from the more touristy center of the peninsula. Well-designed menu with creative variations on French classics. Solid wine list that included some interesting offerings by the glass that went beyond the usual suspects.

We had a great meal! The escargot did not meet my expectations and they kindly removed from my bill. We will be back!

Fantastic as always. I like the addition of different cuts of beef to choose from on the steak frites.
