I've eaten at the downtown location several times and have never had a bad meal there. I met a couple of friends for dinner at the UES location last weekend, and the execution of the dishes was not consistent. Those who ate chicken were very happy. Those of us eating veggies had small complaints. For instance, the cauliflower in my dish was undercooked enough for me to notice it. That said, the service was good, and the meal was very reasonably priced. I would go there again if I were in the neighborhood.

OpenTable confirmed my reservation via email, only for me to show up to a restaurant that had been seized. It was dark and had notices in the window. Needless to say, my group and I had to make other plans.

The food was not nearly as good compared to earlier visits. It appeared hastily prepared and was not at all memorable, though the ingredients were of good quality. The meal was lacking in texture and subtlety of flavor. Service was unacceptably poor. Several times I needed to repeat simple requests that had been overlooked by the wait staff. Based upon the service and food quality I received this time, I no longer believe Brick Lane is a good value. This is a pity, as during earlier visits the food was very good indeed.

We went to celebrate two birthdays. The staff, but Gaurang in particular, were amazing in their attention to our dining experience. The food was amazing, the service even more so, and all of it made for one of the most memorable dining experiences of my life, no kidding.

We discovered this restaurant while looking for a place to eat at the last minute on New Years Eve. We wanted something in the neighborhood with vegetarian selections. Everything we wanted out here and we were pleased with the food and the ambiance. We certainly intend to return.
