Our aim is to provide first class hospitality along with a memorable culinary experience. Recipes and presentations were amazing. We tried multiple apps, meals and desserts. The food was fantastic. Service was amazing. Tables were cleaned promptly and food came out hot.

Food was so so. We had the Argentinian flank steak that came with barely anything on it and was way undercooked. My smoked salmon caviar appetizer came on very dry, too thick and hard to eat toast. Service was not always attentive and we didn’t like that they trapped people into ordering bottled water (were offered still or sparkling water, and we said still, meaning plain water, and were brought a bottle of still mineral water). They never brought any bread to the table, never checked if we needed more drinks, had to flag the waiter down for a check, and it’s a tiny restaurant. Shouldn’t be that hard to keep on eye on tables. The table where we sat was drafty and cold from the brick wall next to it that had small cracks in it. And every time the door opened you can feel the cold air coming in. It was otherwise a cute restaurant, nicely decorated for the holidays, ambiance and music was lovely.

The food was amazing. The server made recommendations and they were all beautiful. I had a glass of the house red, the lamb chop special with risotto (with their amazing hot sauce) and the banana bread pudding. Overall it was a beautiful meal.

Food was good, but needed more explanation. For example, I ordered calamari for appetizers. No one explained that you get the whole squid. I thought you get regular calamari tentacles. Also, there was a table of four young people beside mine that accounted for the noise in the entire restaurant. Plus: I was celebrating my birthday and they gave me a free dessert and sang Happy Birthday.

Buenavista was a nice surprise. The staff was very kind. I started with a guava margarita which was a delightful creation. I had the Cuban tamal as an appetizer. It was super tasty. My main entree was flank steak. It had great flavor. Overall I had a lovely meal and would be happy to return.

We had a 6:30 reservation and arrived at 6:20. We were told that they were busy and wouldn't have a table "until 6:45-6:50". There was a couple standing there that told us they had a 6p reservation and were still waiting. We said we would come back in 15-20 min. When we got back 15 min later, there were 2 separate parties standing there trying to get their reservations honored!! The hostess was nice, but didn't seem to know how to handle all these people who had reservations that she did not have tables for. We finally got seated at 7:15 for our 6:30 reservation. They gave us water glasses, but it was 10 min until someone came over to us to take order. We asked for water and it was another 5-10 min for it to arrive. We ordered everything all at once because we had a show to get to. We only drank water because nobody asked us if we would like drinks...but also we didn't want to risk it keeping us longer !! The apps came out pretty quick and we're delicious!! The main dishes took a decent amount of time, and were also delicious. I ordered a soda but never got a refill because nobody came back to ask about refills or dessert. We had to chase down someone TWICE to get our check!! All in all the food was great, but we definitely won't return. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, or what the issue was, but I won't chance it. Everyone was nice enough...but just very disorganized with poor service.
